Description
The "Roman Club", a school group interested in the occult, to which he's practically enslaved, has become boring for one Hideo Aiba. In fact, he finds his entire existence pretty tiresome until, one day, when a girl named Kurumi Sahana shows up and wants to join up. When the two are left alone in the club classroom, Kurumi makes a special "request" of Hideo, which makes him (understandably) freak out. Though he doesn't know what to think, one thing’s for sure, Hideo’s life just became anything but boring.

well the manga is really great coz it leaves a very long lasting impact on the reader......but honestly not the kind of ending one might expect.....and may be it the because of this confusion....we end feeling the way we feel.....
p.s. not for people who are emotionally liable

This story would have been SUPER if it weren't for this pathetic Fu**ing male main character
MAN .. I hate him ... Sooooooo pathetic .. No self-respecting man would allow him self to be toyed like that .. I hate him !!!!!
I would love to recreate the story and make the male main character more angrier and manlier, MAKE HIM A MAN.
in this story the main character is just a PUS*Y

Spoiler (mouse over to view)
this story was perverted and funny to the end (even if you were always on edge on weather or not their love would be a success) but it is worth the read from the first chapter to the last....
and dont believe pacifyx's spoiler.... cause its wrong
she did not die.... there is a point in the afterstory that he sais to his ****(to who is a secret :p ) "thank you for still existing"

I found this manga completely by chance, i just scrolled and clicked, ( like most the manga i read) but I've never had a manga hit me this hard its been 4 days since i started reading and almost three since i finished. No one i know reads manga so i don't have someone to reflect ideas off of. I love the story and the way it was told. The ending though its still got me thinking. Being a Sunday and a slave of the road I was stuck with just my thoughts and time. My best recommendation is ( once you complete it) listen to the song when the love falls by Yiruma. And just play the story back in your mind from beginning to end. To me it feels like the song was made for it, ill be reading this again shortly that'll be the first manga I've read twice but i feel i need to go back and relive those experiences and maybe ill see something i forgot. This is definitely worth your time it was well worth mine.

A great story from the beginning till the end. The whole club in this series is very likeable and very remember able. Very sad ending imo (no water works but still). I feel that this series is very original compared to other mangas.
I personally didn't like the ending because I couldn't handle a relationship with a dying lover, since I am to selfish. The MC has my respect becoming a man in the his own way.
I don't think they could of made the series any different since If it didn't end in such a sad, tragic way then the main character probably wouldn't have earn respect with the readers.

The best thing you can say about this manga is that it's different. The relationship between the male and female lead is dynamic, but the development is so slow and painfully obvious that you wonder whether the manga will end before their arc even reaches the climax. Granted, given the title, if the author purposely planned this in conjunction with the major theme throughout the manga then I'd have to say he's a genius and revise my rating to 10/10, but I doubt it.
In relation to the tragedy part:
However I still give it a high rating because while I do think the author could have done so much more with his characters, the manga is well written, genuinely funny, aesthetically pleasing, with likable, believable, and memorable characters.
You will finish reading this manga with a sweet taste in your mouth as you remember all the great moments and perhaps go back and re-read some of those great moments but there will be a lingering bitter aftertaste as you realize the lost potential it had.

Characterizing a protagonist and then killing them off is the laziest form of tragedy. It works, but it doesn't make it any less bland.

One of the most unique, deep, and complex romance manga I ever read and this despiete the artwork or some of the rather strange practicies. The strong point of this manga is it's beautiful yet sad stroy that rly let a deep impression on me and yes I couldn't hold back my trears on this one. I can recomend it to everyone who is in search of a mature, unique romance story and isn't averse of strong h-borderline content.

I finished this series so fast after getting hooked on the weird relationship of Hideo and Kurumi. There are fetishes that many would not agree with but I feel that those hentai moments made this manga come to life.
Sundome starts off like most seinan manga, unrealistic and lacking. However, Okada purposefully does this to turn your emotions upside down and inside out. I agree with all the others. Half way through the story, the ecchi scenes are not as powerful as they were in the beginning. Instead, your mind is focused on the plot itself and Hideo's inner battles.
I cried and I'm still thinking about it. If I could, I would thank Okada for an amazing story that is truly a gem in the rough. A part of me regrets ever finishing it and another wishes for a different outcome. Sadly, this manga will never become mainstream because of its ecchi scenes. The live action adaptations are out but I refuse to watch because I know it will never be as good as the manga. I would love to see an anime adaption in the future though. (Cries and prays)
Read it all the way and don't stop til' the end. You will not regret it.

As I read, I felt as if I were Hideo. Even I couldn't tell much of what Kurumi was thinking, but I kept reading. This manga has its happy moments, its anxious moments, its sad moments, and even lustful & daring moments that left me with heavy breathing. Its ending was bittersweet. There are many questions that many never be answered, but all together it's a great series.

It comes off as a raunchy almost hentai manga but after reading it all the way through, all those events seem to underscore the seriousness of it. Good overall development of characters but the ending is confusing....
