So I'll start off by saying the plot isn't the greatest in the world. It starts out well (?... okay), but each time they add a new conflict it just annoys me to be honest. What kept me going is the art. I am in love with it. There are some panels I would just stare at for like a minute straight because I found it so appealing. Again the plot is fine... Not the worst I've read (far from it), but it isn't anywhere close to the top either. A middle, maybe high middle for plot interest. It really does have some good parts, if you can get over the bad parts it has.

Great Art But....

...the story is off. To be fair, the beginning of the story is kinda attractive, it's interesting and it pulls the readers in. I love how Siwon (Taemin) fights and stands on his own but seriously saying, can't the author at least give us some idea on how the body (or more like soul) switching happened in the first place? Perhaps the author wants us to be as confused as Siwon/Taemin but the next question is, does nobody care that the real Siwon is gone? I mean...
Spoiler (mouse over to view)
especially the twin brother, Jiwook should at least know that his twin brother is gone. Or does it mean that Siwon/Taemin is not supposed to tell everyone that he's Taemin and the real Siwon is gone. Is that it? Somehow the more I think about it, the more I get confused.

Anyway, i feel like there are some holes here and there and the author didn't bother filling it, perhaps to leave it to our own imagination.
Spoiler (mouse over to view)
And until now i still don't understand how Joohoon and WooJin actually worked together.
One thing I really love is the art. The story is not completely super bad but it could have been better.

I can praise the gorgeous art, nice sexual intense scenes and kind of interesting plot at the early chapters, but that's about it. The 2 main characters and other side characters are not likable to me. And what's with that twin bother? Joohoon? The one who bullied Siwon to death? Other cold heart students? Where are their punishments? Or the author just turned them into some kind of comical source and twisted BL couples? It's disgusting seeing reader gush over them being cute and all now. It's weird to know after such a good son and excellent student like Siwon committed suicide, no one bothered to find out what have happened to him: his parent, friends, teachers, police... I mean it's not even that much of a secret to begin with, every student knows of it... Poor Siwon. No doubt he doesn't want to live anymore. Even if he dies, no one really cares.

Props to Haribo for hashing an engaging plot despite everyone being really unlikable in this world--everyone but Siwon and Taemin that is (they're the guys that were body-swapped). I appreciate the details down to the different sets of facial expressions used for Siwon to distinguish between the two individuals.

Did I love it? No. Did I at least like it? Eh, it was okay. But I can't discount the fact that I couldn't stop reading it because it was entertaining to read trashy guys repeatedly attempt to trash Siwon.

Spoiler (mouse over to view)
In some parallel universe, there's a love story between Siwon and Taemin and Woojin is that Machiavellian asshole trying to break them apart (but he fails!).

Horrible ending

The story started really good and had a potential. But the development went way far from a good story to just maniac kid who loves his childhood friend unconditionally.

Also the story wasn't particularly dark but they completely ignored the poor boy who suicide . it was painfully rushed to end . still worth reading though

Anyone could have written this in my opinion. Throw in some handsome, rich guys and write as many outlandish backstories, plots and relationships as you want.
What would have made it better than a five was if the ending actually attempted to imply some kind of meaning, or message, but no. It just ended.

After the secret is out, everything is fine and dandy. What a vanilla ending.

AUTHOR SAYS ITS FINISH WHAT

I just read the latest chapter and the author said it was the LAST! WHAT?? There's still so many things I need to know about like how Taemin got in Siwon's body and Woojin's full past.
Spoiler (mouse over to view)
or what happened to Siwon's twin akhdkskak

I am so disappointed that the author seemed tried to rush ending this. I would have given this a full 10 if not for the ending.

Author did say that it will still have extra chapters that shows Woojin and Taemin's further relationship but I would rather see their full background story and all than seeing them all fluffy with one another. Author-nim whyyyy (´༎ຶོρ༎ຶོ`)

Actually (A Rewrite)

Here's a rewrite of my previous comment that was deleted:

RiddleChloe's interpretation is valid and mine has started moving that way as well as of chapter 43. On the other hand her comment belittling readers who enjoy this is rude if not inappropriate.

Anyway back to the manhwa, the biggest issue with it is its handling/use of rape in the story. First off the male lead, Siwoon/Woojin,
Spoiler (mouse over to view)
watches the disk showing Siwon's rape and goes on to tell Taemin, who now occupies Siwon's body, that he was bored watching it. He also then tells Taemin that everyone's already seen it and that basically everyone knows about it so it's really no big deal to be blackmailed by it.
The problem here is that no one, outside of the victim, in the manhwa treats the rape as an issue in any way at all. It then doesn't show any effects of the rape outside of the original Siwon killing himself because of it. And personally I feel that if someone's going to write about rape it should be justified and not used as a shock factor. My reasoning for it being used as such is that there have been plenty of opportunities to address the rape (in how it's handled by the school, community, victim, etc) but it's just thrown in there. Then there's the main character who now occupies Siwon's body and while he does
Spoiler (mouse over to view)
beat up the bullies who try to blackmail him (though they weren't a part of the rape)
he does nothing else with the knowledge of the rape, he doesn't even think about it after. What's the point of having rape in the story if the whole scene could have been replaced with a physical beating, one of the characters at the scene even asks
Spoiler (mouse over to view)
if Siwon would rather have a beating.
And in the context of BL, this is a pretty big issue in the work. So yes, do not read if you have an issue with works that don't address rape when it includes rape because at least of chapter 43 this manhwa hasn't.

The other issue that has started rubbing me the wrong way is the male lead: Siwoon/Woojin. I've read a lot of cold/apathetic male leads, but Siwoon/Woojin kinda comes off as a sociopath in his lack of conscience mainly because he said
Spoiler (mouse over to view)
he was bored when he watched Siwon's rape.
Nothing in the story so far has humanized him, you can maybe argue that his tragic past is humanizing, but because it's something that happens to him, is in his past and is something that has made him who he is today I would say that though it makes one sympathetic to his character it doesn't humanize him. The only thing someone could arguably say that humanizes him is his love for Taemin, but his love is so obsessive and possessive and aggressive that it's scary when thinking/writing about it and not reading the manhwa.

And just my own issue that has more to do with the premise then the actual plot is that the original Siwon is dead. I didn't think I'd have an issue with it, but with how everything has gone I've now developed an issue with it. Taemin and him switched bodies but the only one who got a second chance was Taemin (and if Siwon is really getting a second chance then why would he be put in a dying body). Everyone's forgotten him, no one mourns him, and Taemin
Spoiler (mouse over to view)
hasn't even tried to get justice for him.

One man's trash is another man's treasure

This review is mainly for the benefit of readers who may get the wrong idea about the tone and themes of this manga from RiddleChloe and Anime11#'s comments. Anime11# makes a valid point about distinguishing fantasy from reality, but I think it's equally important to point out that RiddleChloe is wrong to imply that the dark subject matter amounts to advocacy or glorification of the dysfunction depicted.

The story is basically about two lonely, abused boys whose bond transcends death. The protagonist is admirable despite, not because of, his aggressive defense tactics and limited education. His dream is to go to school, but the plot recognizes that years of neglect, isolation, and domestic abuse are not so easily overcome at the first opportunity. His subpar academic standing is the subject of lighthearted ridicule, but his struggle realistically highlights who he is: a hardened kid for whom angst is a luxury and pragmatism is essential. It's acknowledged that he is a quick learner who is accustomed to hard work and both mentally and physically strong.

When struck by a truck while crossing the street, he is seemingly offered a second chance at life in the shoes of an academically gifted but physically weaker boy his age who has suffered his own share of hardships as a suicidal rape victim. The rape itself is a fleeting trauma, not scintillating fodder for readers with rape fetishes, and people wanting explicit content over character development should look elsewhere. The rapists, bullies, and child abusers are depicted as the victimizers they are even if that depiction is not as black and white as RiddleChloe may prefer. The fact that the two main characters must find inner strength and each other to survive is the central theme and tragedy of the story, so I have no idea how self-respect is supposedly being belittled. This is not the sort of yaoi that condones the ugly world its characters inhabit. Instead, it gives us flawed people whose struggle to survive is admirable and reason enough to champion their happiness.

I was baffled at RiddleChloe's interpretation, which seemed to equate the absence of some righteous authority apportioning justice with the absence of morals. Although good entertainment does not require an absolute or relative sense of morality, this manhua is hardly flaunting humanity's worst tendencies to shallowly exploit taboo stimuli. Morals abound if the reader is willing to recognize them.

Update in response to mikako17, who makes some excellent points:
Spoiler (mouse over to view)
The main lead's comments about being bored reflect his ability to intuitively sense the protagonist's absence and his indifference towards unrelated people who exhibit no will to live. He’s a screwed-up guy, and his callous attitude isn’t supposed to be endearing. I think we are meant to sympathize with his character and understand how he became so cold without condoning that coldness. More important, his attitude has no bearing on what transpired. He is not a perpetrator, but he knows the twins well enough to dislike one of them, at least, for commenting on his family.
The author gives us reason to believe there is a body swap, so both characters are given a second chance. The main lead sees the protagonist’s body after the accident, at which point the weaker character wakes up before passively embracing death. The main lead’s criticism of that fatalistic choice may reflect the author’s feelings, but we learn in later chapters that much of the ridicule leveled at the weaker character is a myopic reaction to a scandalous video that may have led viewers to believe he was more complicit in what happened than he was. (To be honest, I’m not sure why the tape can’t be used against his oppressors or why it’s up to the students to bear everything alone, but I don’t think anything in the story suggests this is acceptable.) Regardless, his strength and selflessness were apparent before the rape. He was a popular student esteemed for his excellent academic record before his jealous twin manipulated him into confronting the story’s dangerous antagonist in an ill-fated attempt at heroism. The uniquely humiliating nature of a gang rape caught on tape ruined him, which is why the protagonist accused the antagonist of murder. It was the pivotal moment that destroyed his will to live. In that sense, I think the rape was depicted as a significant, life-altering event.

I am 49 chapters in as of this writing, and I love this story. Not only is the art beautiful (and hot!), the plot/situation is pretty interesting. I'm a huge fan of the UST between the main characters! It's a slow burn that really hits all the right spots to me, and I feel like the leading characters are developed well enough that I can root for them both in their own ways.

The main downside is I'm having so much trouble waiting each week for a new update. Instead I find myself rereading and speculating and anticipating what'll happen next. hahahah HELP
