The ending lifted this manga from a workaday BL story to something really, really remarkable. I was conflicted about it 'cause on the one hand it's - not what I expected or hoped for - but as time wore on I realized it was better, more realistic and really memorable in the sense that it threw the WHOLE PREVIOUS STORY into a new light and I was forced to go back and see if - if Subaru really felt what the ending seems to imply he felt and... I can't say anymore without spoiling it and I can't even give away the sheer power of my emotional reaction or what kind of reaction it was precisely, since that'll be a spoiler in itself. Lol. Suffice it to say that a part of me was screaming: "WHY?" But at the same time, I had to admit it was an amazing idea to conclude it that way. This is just a great and very unique manga, made so because of the absolutely unconventional (as in, NEVER SEEN IT BEFORE) ending. It's not an ending that everyone will like though, even I can't say that I "like" it precisely, only that it was awesome from a storytelling-impact point of view and made a lasting impression.

You know how you sometimes read a manga and then when you see its name again, you can't even remember what it was about or only remember it vaguely, because even if you enjoyed it, it didn't leave that much of an impression on you? NOT SO WITH THIS MANGA. It will totally leave an impression and if you ever see the title "Lucky-kun" again or even hear the phrase as a nickname lol, you will remember this story and its ending in perfect detail. That's how powerful it is. I don't think it's rushed at all, even though I originally had a, "Huh? What just happened? No - wait!" reaction. The truth is that life really does work in unexpected ways like that, sometimes things happen suddenly that affect us for a long, long time. I think the shock-factor works better because of the suddenness, so I don't think it's rushed, although I'm sure there are those who will disagree with me.

Anyway I recommend this manga. Not something you get to read every day - or even every year lol.

The development is gradual, its a pretty sweet(makes you want to say awww at times) plot. The art is okay, a bit old fashioned as in retro. The character Mura gets me angry sometimes though. He still continues his relationship with his girlfriend after starting a new one with his stepbrother. Besides him all the characters are cute and rather enjoyable to read. There are pretty some good comedic scenes, but it only pops out now and then. Depending on your tastes this might be your manga! =D

Ah this was a beautiful manga. I love the art, it is gorgeous, and the characters are to die for! Very yummy albeit outdated! Their relationship works out very nicely in the sense that it does not develop too fast. They take their time figuring out things (even if that means lots of sexual frustration ;D) Very highly recommended. I think I will be rereading this one a lot!

The romance may be a little ...tentative, but the way it's portrayed through page layouts and art motifs is just *gorgeous*. While the character designs and types are rather (often hilariously) dated, and the reader is given a tight focus on a relationship - nothing more or less, plot-wise - it's A++ as an experience, if not a coherent story.

Now if the yaoi-stereotype-loving girlfriend could just stop *being*, I'd like this even more.

This is a very beautiful manga showing the developement/growth of Mura and Suburu's relationship. The relationship is paced out perfectly, not unrealistically neither. There is no love-making straight away so if you're looking for smut turn away.

The manga has beautiful artwork, very tender moments to appeal to fangirls, and some comedy too (lots of comedy atually!). The outfits and hairstyles are clearly nineties, but it's only really noticeble in the color pages. Highly reccomend. It's a very sweet and beautiful story. Wish there was more.
