Description
It's the start of high school, and Kako decides to "produce" her bookworm of a childhood friend, Kousei, so that he can become a good-looking and popular school idol. She models him after Lawrence, a character in a manga she likes, but as Kousei's transformation becomes a huge success and he extends his new character beyond what she asks for, what will Kako do? Will she find herself left behind in the wake of his newly found popularity?

I initially wanted to rate this series lower but as many others I have to admit the art is gorgeous.
Sadly, that's it. It also is what lured me in...I guess I need to stop being so shallow to read things just by cover.

I have to say... I have only fully read first 5 chapters. Every page I kept hoping the heroine would finally wake up and stopped being so awfully dumb and shallow. And stopped doing all those horrible things to him. Every page I suffered from that not happening. I thought I saw a ray of hope in fourth chapter since it seemed like she finally realized she doesn't want to lose him.....only to see her shortly after act awfully once again. And again. And again.
After the first 5 chapters I have skimmed through the rest and read the ending. I...can't really cover just how glad I was I didn't waste time on reading any more of it. There really is no depth to the story whatsover.

Taking a turn for the worse

The story started out strong and original, but in recent plot development, the ludicrously easy-to-take-advantage-of main characters have been exploited in to horridly predictable and unbelievable circumstances
Spoiler (mouse over to view)
Rival actor/model tricks female lead into signing a "producer" contract with company but literally crosses out producer and writes in talent. Yeah. Seems legit. -_-
that the series is losing my favor, and if the forums are any indication, or the rest of the fan base as well.

Let's hope the author can turn it around quick before it continues down this poor path.

It's a light manga where it's full of cute although pretty cliche scenes. Sometimes it's like when you're eating a really sweet candy and because it too sweet, you can't really appreciate the taste.

Light and fluffy. Some people like it, some people don't. Depends on your taste

This is officially the best art I've ever seen. I love other mangakas' styles, but I LOVE THIS ONE.
I mean, ICHINOSE Kaoru has skill! I didn't even know someone could look so different without glasses and their hair down! xD!
So the art is a major plus, but the story line is amazing too.

I won't even begin to describe it, because me trying to contain it's awesomeness would make it seem less awesome then it is xD!!
JUST READ IT.

You will have NO regrets c:
To have any is impossible. (the other people... I don't know what they're thinking. I love the personalities everyone in the manga has. O.o also. If it doesnt offend you, don't go b*tchen around about it. It's your OWN PERSONAL OPINION>

Just cause some people love it , and others hate it, that doesn't dictate WHAT YOU FEEL ABOUT IT.

SO if you like the plot line from what YOU've heard about this manga, just give it a shot. (:
(I CANT BELIEVE IM ABOUT TO READ THE LAST CHAPTER -tear-)

So ridiculous, man. Since this is a shoujo manga, I wanted it to be girl centric. But no, they wait until the last volume to give the protag her spotlight and even then, they have her return to her plain old self in the end. She's called "Plain Girl" as though it is her name. Argh. I disliked it immensely.

1 point for the art

I stopped reading after the first chapter. After that I thought I might get better as the story goes on since it's rated so high and is so popular, so I skimmed through to the middle, and yes, it's painfully pathetic! I expected more from the mangaka, since her other mangas are a actually okay.

I suppose nowadays it is rare to find something creative that blows you away and shoujo is suppose to be usually predictable but this is just way too irritating to read. Typical female lead, typical teasing/ actions/ reactions of the male lead, typical situation, typical outcome, typical plot! The mangaka tried to make the heroine having other strong sides but unfortunately it fails. I don't see anything that attracts people about this manga at all! Well, except for the nice art. Then again, if good-looking guys are all you want to see, go read yaoi.

I intended not to even waste my time writing a review but Goddddddd, this thing was sooooooo repetitive, there was nooo need what so ever for anything after the first two chapters.Yeah their were bishies but the mangaka compleeeeteeely ruined the whole image for me with the constant cheesy lines.I always saw this manga and skipped it because the storyline looked shiiiit, I should of stuck with my gut feeling. This is so bluuuuuuuuuuuuggggghhhh..

The main girl, those she wear glasses all the time in the manga? Or almost all the time? Because I've only seen the image here on MangaUpdates and a few pages into chapter one, and she looks completely different from MangaUpdates' pic and the manga one embarrassed

I actually have no idea why I even read 5 chapters. Sure, it's sweet that Kousei is totally loyal to Kaako, and the art is quite beautiful, but the story is horrendous.

Basically, Kaako gets offended when she and Kousei move to the big city, and in retaliation, goes to prove that Kousei is not a "country bumpkin" (even though he's totally adorable and it really does not matter whether he's some kind of extremely romanticized knight or himself). Kaako creates all sorts of trouble by introducing Kousei's hotness to the masses, and eventually the fashion world (and that's as far as I got).

I think the only reason I even read 5 chapters is because I wanted to see Kaako without her glasses and pigtails, because she's really beautiful without. Kousei keeps her appearance to himself and only reveals it when it's convenient.

Basically, it's a manga about how outer appearances matter, and you're pretty much just reading a girl call a perfectly fine guy "selfish". It gets a three out of ten for the art and for "Lawrence and Rose", which I would totally read if it was a real manga and Lawrence wasn't disgusting.
