From Tokyopop: Young Mikan runs away to Tokyo to follow her best friend, Hotaru, who has been enrolled in an exclusive, secretive private school for geniuses. But it turns out that Alice Academy is a lot more than meets the eye. If Mikan wants to stay by Hotaru's side, she has to both pass the strange "entrance exam" and face the even greater challenge of befriending her very odd new classmates. Whether it's Hotaru's gift for inventing gadgets, the cranky Natsume's fire-casting ability, or Professor Narumi's control of human pheromones, everyone at the school has some sort of special talent. But what ability, if any, does Mikan possess? Mikan is going to have to rely on her courage and spunk if she's going to stay in school, or even stay alive!

I started reading this then I was so attached to it I stayed up till morning just reading it. You have to read this, it's got everything a shoujo manga needs. The characters are different yet cute and the plot is interesting.
One of the best!
It is beautifully drawn with a great plot. I like how the main leads are children not teenagers because this story with teens would just mean a trainwreck. The plot is so interesting and it had me on the edge of my seat. It was so interesting and unique. Beautifully drawn the art to me was unique in it's own way.
The only thing I didn't like was how in the first few volumes it took so long to get to the good parts. Reading those parts were nice but it took just way to long!
In the Above
Beautiful art, funny, sad, cute -the story has all necessities. For those who like to just quick-flip and just get to the fun parts (like me) it isn't the best choice for you. This story is positively slooow, smartly made, and sometimes can have lots of words. But for those who like to savor every page and think it through after, I guarentee an amazing experience... As the story progresses, its no longer the calm, friendly life shoujo at alice academy, this manga proves to have some action and mystery and other mish mash, which I guess, could be a good thing.

For the first few 50++ chapters, I wasn't really interested, then I tried continue-ing to read then I cried intensely. Seriously, this is manga made me cried/teared alot alot of times. It's as though as, it really touches your heart, all the pain and the happiness, you could feel it. Although the translating team abit ..... But still its a must read!
I absolutely love the originality of this manga and have found it very entertaining. Even though the characters are just young kids, the story still appealed to me, it isn't really childish at all. The art is great, the characterisation is great and the plot is great. My only problem with this story is that now it's begun to get more dark and serious it has become less enjoyable (which is wierd because we all like a bit of drama). But, the longer it takes to come to a conclusion the more tedious it becomes. I've already started to skip chapters and already I've lost my grasp on where the story is going. Obviously the mangaka had to move onto the more serious aspects of the plot and to somehow introduce us to the past stories and how it all links in but somewhere along the way I think it became boring. Mikan is now alienated from all her friends and it's all un-jolly and feels like it won't conclude any time soon and I'm not sure I can last. That being said, if the mangaka manages to round it up sometime soon I think the story's awesomeness may be saved.
It's good but...
I mean it's good and all, but sometimes the story seems to drag on for me. It's just one thing after the other. I don't know how many times i've picked up and dropped this drama, but i do admit, it's a good read, with characters with unique personality and a strong main character. The art is also nice. Maybe I'll pick it up again........sometime.
A Really Great Manga
At first you'll think that this manga is not so cool because it seems like this story is for kids, but once you get to read it a bit more you'll know that it is amazing! I remember that the author says she made kids in this story because they don't have love and romance problems, and this doesn't really bother me.
Well, I give this manga a 9 out of 10 because the drawing is really not that great, at first I thought that this doesn't really matter because the story is great, but once you start to read more you'll notice that the art is getting bad. And lastly, I recommend for you to read this manga and you should try not to mind the art because you'll think the manga is boring.
great but the age.
I'm reading it, but the story seems like: too looooooooooooong (seriously i've been reading it since 4 hrs ago and I was like omg so awesome I wanna read it, but now it's like I'm reading it and don't look like I've pass the 70 chapters ._. feel like it takes forever to change from chapter to chapter -.-) still is A GREAT READ. kids with kids and the way they treat 'em is really funny n_n♥ NATSUMEEEE, tsubasa, (the playboy guy), the guy with the animalsss<3 they are HOT! D:
read it if you'll like to be all: omg, they are so cute I want to know what they'll do!
One of the best series out there
I love reading this manga even though I first thought it was a lame manga with a bunch of kids. But once I read it, it became so addicting because the storyline was funny and interesting. The manga does go through a lot of intense conflicts and then switch to a lighter story plot.
Before in the beginning it was pretty well done. The art in the beginning seemed decent and so did the story line. Now, it's just a complete mess. The art looks like it has been quickly sketched and it just seems to drag on forever
