Mixed feelngs

I have mixed feelings about this one, I really liked the start, it was refreshing and cheerful to read about. However I felt that all the complicated harem like things weren't necessary and just made the story hard to read. I liked the ending but the events just leading up before the ending was rather boring and tiring. I wouldn't call it angst as I actually like that genre, it's just things that make you feel uncomfortable. The ending was nice however so I just have really really mixed feelings about this. As for the characters, I liked most of them, they have these little quirks that make them interesting and they don't feel shallow. I also found the art really nice, the girls looked pretty and cute and the guys looked really hot ~ It's just how frustrating some parts of the plot were that make me feel like this manga isn't that good.

I LOVE THIS SO MUCH I CAN GIVE IT A 100

You know this manga is definitely an up bringer, I mean life bringer? It gave me the oomph and power to go through my daily life and to have more confidence in whatever I'm doing, especially when suggesting something to my friends. It's really an uplifting(ya that's the word) manga with characters I love so much, I just love them mains that chatter bicker a lot, how familiar they are with each other is so unbelievable as there were past middle school friends for just a brief moment(this can never happen in real life can it?), I just like how they have changed when they start high school and when they have body contact or Kou makes the first move on Futaba and tells her he's doing it to protect her haha sparks fly. I love Futaba's exterior personality while being the mild quiet girl inside, sounds like me, aish, haha. And how I gradually found out this character is very persistent, haha I wonder if I'll get anywhere if I try. Oh and how the mangaka draw Kou, dang handsome haha, one of those really (REALLY) awesome looking male mains that you don't see very often(but he doesn't look good in color). The girl too, woa how the mangaka expresses her every action, man drawn with perfection, ok not only Futaba but every action of every character was expressed clearly. I love it so much, though some parts were easily predictable, but this manga is still super appealing , and warms up my heart so much and I anticipate every chapter to come! It was a good thing I waited for it to be completed so I can read it fast fast heh heh~ this manga is just my personal taste/preference, I guess I just like this really closeness and little touchy gestures between two people before they officially become a couple. Oh...I think I can read this again and again without getting bored, my fellow shoujo manga the fans.

Spoiler (mouse over to view)
chapter 8 I really didn't think Kou will get off, but after thinking about it of course he will, youre not gonna leave someone you like alone right~ haha I'm crazy in love with this manga, one of the best best stories im telling you! I'm so glad I'm reading it so glad!
Chapter 11.5 oh I love the little excerpt of murao and tanaka sensei, the end was so awesome! Hahaha laugh my way out
Chapter 20 the kiss?!! Wanted to speak to ear and she turned. That, was a bit unbelievable, so I went to the scene and check, ok...it's a bit possible, but on the spot, lips?!! Wau~ that's kinda cool~
Ok, chapter 21 was outright, awesome! And when chapter 22 came, it was like sigh, pityness and love, is soooo complicated. 23 was even more boom bam to the heart, the last scene, boooom! Explosion, awesome~~~ I think I love drama, and also because I know at the end of the day of course course course it'll be Futaba and Kou together, just need to go through some of that trial times. If it doesn't end up like that, they should DEFINITELY categorize this as a tragedy manga! And I'll definitely won't read it, cause I just hate crying over something sad and making my brain replay the sad scenes, ugh~
Chapter 28 around page 18 or 17, I think it's true when Futaba said if anybody knew their true personality, well that statement is true for me, I really don't know how I should be sometimes, I think one thing I can confirm is that, I'm not feminine but I want to. Yea...always try but just can't get used to it.
At the end of chapter 29, I think most of the manga characters are suffering from not eating much, on the other hand in reality, we're kinda having an obesity crisis here~
Chapter 35 page 7 or 6, Futaba getting all worked up thinking about Touma's kiss, I was like no...don't be affected by it, of course as a Futaba-Kou shipper, duh I will say that. But for Futaba, it's like she knows that Kou rejected her, so might as well start a new leaf and be contented with what you have. But huh huh for us readers, I'm just waiting for the time Kou snatches her back.
Oh chapter 46, the hospital part, dang it was so wonderful it made me cried I flip the pages over and over again and it made cry every time again, at that part he said "we dragged a lot of people in and we finally can't start something now, how could I have lose you?" Oh myyy...that was the part my eyes became teary, and well te whole hospital just made my eyes rain like a flood. Chapter 46, I love you, I have been waiting for you for so long. And ain't Kou was drawn so cute when he bought the flowers for Futaba? Haha, I love Kou's cute face when he's been drawn like that, oh all of the characters are so cute when they are drawn like that, Chibi style? Haha so cute.
Wao stupid at the end there I thought Kou was really going to go somewhere else man..=.= ugh the stupid suspense from the end of chapter 48
Dang, I wish I knew what Futaba said to Kou at the last scene...

To tell the truth, all, well most of the men in this manga are very understanding towards the other gender, especially Touma and Uchimichi, sometimes I read and I don't get why the girl would get angry, until the guys apologize and explain the whole situation, and I'll "ahh...so that's what it is", and honestly in reality no way there are men like that haha, even for a girl like me it's hard to read the atmosphere. Sigh everybody needs to fight for love, having a love rival is a pain, moreover having two, for me I'll just give up flat. But this is a story and heh heh the story must end as how it should be muahahahaha. And the thing is, it ended as how it should be because both of them have mutual feelings for each other and a strong one too, so if you have a real strong love that you feel attached to and you kinda have a hint that the other person have the same feelings for you, don't give up and persevere on, ahh I wanna see that love in reality.
I link everything back to reality haha, I'm a childish person dreaming.

Disappointed

Ao Haru Ride was on the path towards becoming my favorite shoutout manga. Everything was top notch; the art--which thankfully hasn't wavered in beauty--the characters, the premise and the story. However, because it dragged on for SO long, stupid drama between the MC's kept popping out from thin air. Ao Haru Ride lost that homey slice-of-life feeling and soon turned into a soap opera. I would recommended reading the first 20 to 25 chapters because those were golden.

it was a torture!

I liked Sakisaka Io works very much. and after reading Strobe Edge, I was really expecting Ao Haru Ride would give off that same pleasant sweet breezy vibe. But nope!

spoiler[It started out so good, although from the earlier chapter I could have guess that this manga were in a slightly darker mood. But I was fine with that, as long as the character and storyline is appealing. and it does, in the starting only. Once the mangaka introduced the second lead it derailed from it's own sweetness and things take turn into something of an utter complete mess. It was like the mangaka forget the purpose of the manga from earlier and characters switched their personalities completely, and it was just dragging and boring. not to mention I was baffled by the whole Futaba-Touma things. It was torture having to go through their scenes ( sorry for those who like them or Touma, I just can't like him. yeah he seems nice but slyly manipulative, and I really hate that about him behind the good guy facade, he was possesive! there I said it) but for me, it was just unacceptable. It was like the mangaka focus too much about them (not like I care) and the MAIN character Kou got shoved aside to lament on his own bitterness and he have become someone undecisive, stuck in the past with petty jealousy. At this point I was just hoping that the mangaka would end the story already. So with that, I skipped thoroughly the story starting from Futaba-Touma arc(not to mention that Narumi bitch) and waiting for someone to comment that it was over and Futaba-Kou are back together and start reading it again. and gladly the mangaka have the sympathy of not torturing me again, and end the Futaba-Touma facade and move on with the real point of the story, the development between Futaba-Kou. and it was sweet. yes, sweet but still it cannot washed out the bitterness that I had to endure watching the whole love polygon things. so I gave the rating 6 just for the sake of art and the beginning and the last part of the manga. the middle part was just meh throgh and through.]

Started out so good...

This one pisses me off since after school festival chapters. It was so frustrating to read to the end, I was so glad that I only started picking this one up now that the manga was complete. The indecisiveness was too too too much. I like "Daytime Shooting Star" more comparing to this,
Spoiler (mouse over to view)
But if in the end Fubata'd chosen Touma like the Daytime's ending, I would probably freaking burn this manga.

Kou was beautifully drawn though.

Futaba and Kou can get clueless at times, making the plot cliche, but still, I enjoyed the romance in this. Kou's looks made my heart race, no doubt. Thanks to the mangaka for good drawings =w=.

To start I do think this is a well-written shoujo. It has its cliches and trite plot points but it's written decently and transitions well in each chapter. The thing I really dislike about the series is the terrible, unlikable characters (keep in mind this is my opinion and comments on it) I just think the characterizations for all of them are terrible and they don't operate beyond their "set character mode." This makes them seem unreal and just forced and even the most genuine characters seem to be really shallow. I dislike the supporting characters a little less than I do the two main leads who are just insufferable and actually perfect for each other.

For two leads they are the worst, indecisive pair ever.

This whole Team Jacob vs Team Edward atmosphere for the two main lotharios in Futaba chan's heart has really got me charged up! Like I want the resolution already but I also want more doki doki and kyaa moments!!! I'm so torn! And the worst part is... you just know the anime is gonna end in another episode and leave us hanging till the next season (if at all) rolls around!

This is a great story to read if you want to feel lots of emotions. It's really good at the start, but as the story progress, you'll feel more and more angst, and want beat up the characters because they're being stupid. It's really frustrating. Oh well. Hope they will realise their mistakes sooner and have a happy ending!

I really liked this manga but the way it's going right now kind of puts me off.
Spoiler (mouse over to view)
I really like Kou and I get the stupid decisions that he made but he was such an ass to Futaba and although I agree that he needs to regret his decision and that he needs to suffer from them, I still don't think this is the proper way to go.

For one, Futaba and Touma's relationship is really weird. I was really pissed off by the way Touma asked Futaba to be his girlfriend and the fact that Futaba actually agreed. I do see that Futaba is starting to see Touma in a more romantic light but honestly it feels more like she found a stray puppy and decided to keep it, so I'm pretty sure that even if they have an okay relationship right now, it won't work out in the long run. I can't fully agree that Touma is a nice guy because there are so many moments when he just feels so entitled to Futaba even when they weren't together that it got really annoying. He seems like a shallow, jealous prick whenever Kou's around and it's really stupid. I just feel like he's playing the nice guy act and it's just so annoying.

Also, I don't see that Futaba's really happy with Touma when she's constantly worried about Kou. Actually, entering that relationship is unfair for both of them because Touma knows that Futaba's not over Kou and even used this fact to convince her to be his girlfriend by telling her that he'll help her get over instead of giving her time to get over Kou without needing anyone, and Futaba knows that there's a huge chance that she'll end up hurting him, especially when she has no way of knowing whether she can develop feelings for Touma.
