Well.. I just wondered if this manga has some sceenes in school?
Or why is it "school life"?

Hayate is my favorite manga now... and believe me, i have read a LARGE selection (such as Death note, Ranma, Elfen lied, ect.) And i think it may be the most unique in it's own way. I'm sure many of you will agree with me. and I also think, in my opinion, that it deserves AT LEAST a 7 for art, comedy, and story (the story isn't that deep yet but it will be. It's one of these things that you can just tell. like a Sixth sense ). It is truly remarkable and is a master piece and im am hoping very much that this is an extremly long series. like 25 volumes or more. oh and one more thing......

First, I want to say to people giving it a 1 for being the worst manga they have ever read... just.. wow.. I have read so many bad manga, I mean in every sort of way.
Its just started, we are still at least 5 volumes behind. Saying this is the worst manga ever read, means you really REALLY need to read more then just this series. Seriously.
There is a story developing, but its hidden behind all the comedy. While some can say "Ah, just another harem," I haven't really seen another with this type of design.
Sadly, its hard to find a manga that is completely original, they are -going- to fall into certain aspects, and this one falls neatly into its niche. Its not quite a harem manga, and I esp like the line "I could never lay my hands on a child!" when it was suggested he hit on his master.

I rate this one high, for several reasons: Its art, its comedy (I had to laugh when he was in elementary school, telling how his dream was to live in a 3 bedroom house. ), for its morals (I might be looking into it,but the moral of money isn't everything. Education, integrity, and so forth have huge roles in our lives), and so on.

Also, just a side note, the anime follows really really closely. Which made me laugh several times.

this is mostly comedy...it just goes on and on with hayate having trouble, no character development, storyline is non-existent, this is the worst manga i read....don't get me wrong! i like comedy but i like it with the rest of the mix.

Lol.. hmm this manga.. is realllly something. Starts off with stomach crunching comedy and continues to be. I burst out laughing often while reading this.

The drawing of this manga is good and suits my taste.Cute simple drawing for the characters. Nothing too hard out or anything but it suits this manga since its just a wacky comedy kinda manga. Though i sometimes dislike the way the some things are drawn for example the lion.
Story line is .. hmm.. dont really see much of a story. just a life of a poor butler working for a uber rich family or something. If your a person who really read manga for a good plot or storyline then i suppose this isnt really your cup of tea.
Character development.. hmm there is some... but i dont see much.

Ah nvm.. overall this manga is just really an uber funny comedy manga and that is the main motive or rather driving force of this manga storyline.

Since i love this comedy so much ill give it a 9. but if i have to count in my ratings from all aspects id say this is a 7~8 kinda thing. But hey READ IT!!

hilarious comedy and romance. the action scenes still counts as comedy too lol! reading the first chapter got me hooked on this one.

This anime/manga is hilarious.. I really laughed hard... I also got a stomachache for laughing hard... i'll always be waiting for its updates

If you know a fair amount of anime and game knowledge for some parts or if not you still need to read this funny mange.

Most manga I've read that has something like this are usually mediocre.

Although with HnG, it keeps you reading for more as they constantly break the 4th wall each and every time and the otaku-related jokes. For the most part, this manga can appeal to all ages and isn't overly vulgar in a sense there's like a ton of blood or ecchi items

This is a good read to those who want to read something random and doesn't care about the order since they're really isn't much of a storyline anyways... or... if you like gut-busting laughter. That's just as good


Although, probably the only thing is that they have so many references to other anime especially older ones, is that some of the newer generation or those who prefer to watch the new stuff might not have a clear understanding of how the reference may be properly used. However, for those who understand the jokes, they are quite well placed and gives the reader a good laugh or so.
