I really enjoyed it

I really liked this manga. At first I thought it was just going to be an annoying cliched manga with an annoying heroine, but further in some stuff happens which makes the heroine a lot more likable. Great ending too.

A cute, funny, yet heartbreaking story of first love

Interesting story of hatsukoi (first love). I suppose it was predictable, though. It's cute and funny with some drama and quite a bit of angst. For me it would've been a great story no matter how it ended - early on you see that it will probably only go one of two ways. IMHO, Ikeyamada-sensei was able to incorporate some depth into a seemingly light story, with intimate connections that develop between the main characters over time.

it was an another amazing manga i read though it was short it was nice but then again i guess it could have had a few more chapter....
Spoiler (highlight to view)
i was aslo hopping that Hikaru and Takara would be together at the beginning but then later after they had to brake-up and after 3-4 months later Hikaru falls for Arata it wasn't fast i mean 4 monthes is lost compared to 3-4 weeks that sometime you see in other manga. will it was a good manga but only if there was 1-2 more volumes or a few more chapters.

Don't Judge a Book by its Summary

The summary sounds like crap, to be honest (but it is the truth). I put off reading it for a long time because I thought it sounded stupid and the main girl would be someone who wanted more sex than love. It happens like that with some manga.
At first, the girl was whiny, girly and dependable (not as annoying as Hana ni Nare. I hate damsels in distress. -_-.), which annoyed me, but Hikaru soon grew on me (as most characters do. xD). Although the split personality sounded like the plan the mangaka was going for, it seemed like she changed the whole plot. Nevertheless, this manga was sweet and wonderful, just like all fantasies do.
It's a good read, if you like cliched, shoujo manga. If you're looking for something more unique, I'd recommend something else. However, 34 chapters just blew by me in an hour. I couldn't stop reading.

cliches all over. very standard drawing. pretty stupid character. > even though she develops herself to a much better one the first 4-5 volumes were gonna kill me.
this was just a waste of time.
if you want a overclassical manga with overannoying character and have 1-2 hours to kill for absolutely NOTHING, then go on.

Spoiler (highlight to view)
the story was pretty mixed.
it is like the mangaka decided arata to be a split character then changes her mind, and also changes her mind after the voting(arata got 100 more reader votes).

it's so good!!! i really love the ending!! i really like it when the bad boys win!! i can really feel that Arata needs Hikaru more than Takara needs her...i mean c'mon! the guy had dark past people so don't blame him for being such a pervert!! the only reason that people say tha Hikaru x Takara is better is because he's Hikaru's dream guy and your dream guy is not always the guy you are suited to be with so the ending is just PERFECT!! i reccommend it to allt he people in the world who wants to read manga!!!

the moment you read the begining you know she would end up with arata but the way the story progressed was really stupid all the twist and turn just made it irritating since most of the story was about takara and hikaru and in the end she still ended the up with arata

Cute story, but totally dissatisfying ending.

First things first, this is a nice shoujo manga with no shortage of lookalike (this time, purposely lookalike) bishies, and pretty artwork to look at. I don't think it's smutty, though- there's just some nudity, and it's a very far cry from Mayu Shinjo or even Minami Kanan's work. I like the fact that Hikaru has pink hair, too- perfect for an otaku smile . And at least through the first half or so (about two-thirds, I'd say) of the story, the characters are well likeable and Hikaru doesn't seem like a total shoujo pushover IMO.

Spoiler (highlight to view)
I seem to be one of the few people here who was actually rooting for Takara all through- his and Hikaru's romance was the most believably written part of the story- they had amazing chemistry, which I felt Arata and Hikaru rather lacked. I was so sad when they had to end it..for me, ArataxHikaru just lacked the intensity and sweetness of TakaraxHikaru, more so since Hikaru kind of became a total limp dishrag after ending it with Takara (kind of believable, since she's a girl with a broken heart, but falling for another guy so fast...nah, doesn't sound credible to me). And I don't feel Takara acted like a jerk, he did what he felt was right (ie give Hikaru up, even if it tore him up inside- and it did), and SHE was the one who asked to have that night together. Which, incidentally, nearly made me cry- the end, where he tells her he loves her, was heartbreaking.

Truthfully, I didn't really like the fact that she ends up with Arata- something about Arata's bad-boy reformation just didn't really work for me. He turned into a complete wimp by the end, IMO (mad amounts of self-sacrifice)- and the pacing of his and Hikaru's story felt a little rushed, especially when Takara and Hikaru sort of had that thing going in the might have worked better with a few more volumes, or chapters even. But I did like his dog, 'baka Hiyoko'- and some of his and Hikaru's interactions were really funny. Though I feel the big misstep in the story was the fact that Takara-kun was brought back into Hikaru's life at all- it only serves to remind me how in love they were, and to ditch rooting for Arata (which I'd started to do a little of, by then). I think the split-personality storyline sounded cool at first, but in the extra chapter at the end, I actually liked the fact that Arata could unbend enough towards Takara to give him flowers for graduation.

The overwhelming impression at the end of the manga, though (at least IMO) is disappointment for poor Takara, who really and truly does love Hikaru. I wish Ikeyamada-sensei would write him a story of his own as a sort of sequel to this, where he finds another girl whom he loves as much as he loves Hikaru.

It's cliched yet it's cute. I really didn't like the story. I hate the heroine, she just falls into the typical shoujo heroine category. And she's really indecisive. Arata looks like a wimp later on. And I don't like Takara either. I'm sorry, I just really didn't like the story.

I think this series was really cute. Really cliche but hey, it still makes it good. I found how he lied about the split personality rather funny, but I somehow knew that was alie from the beginning seeing as he (Arata) hated it whenever someone said it. Arata is such a Tsundere xD
