Nagasawa Shiina is just an average 3rd year high school student until her parents' company goes bankrupt. In order to pay the bills, she sells herself into prostitution. At her first job, a mysterious masked man crashes the party... and it's someone she knows.

Akumetsu is the story of Shou, a vigilante that's out trying to straighten the corrupt Japanese Government through terrorism with his "One man, One kill" code of action.

Great! Suprisingly deep story in somewhat apocalyptical setting

I took this title to just read some seinen, fighting off disappointment that Team Medical Dragon is translated only to 60+ chapter and wanting to put my mind on something else.
At first Akumetsu seems like a flashy gory shounen full of nonsense. I've kept reading simply because I liked stuff about corrupted government, which fit perfectly in that of my own nation's. And then, gradually, all that over-the-top crap started to make sense, and a brilliant story unravelled,

I've stopped at chapter 130, will definitely be back in the future when enough of unread chapters will gather.

Akumetsu is not for kids, it's a good and gritty story, reminds me a bit of Boondock Saints in way of us dreaming to fix that rotting world of corruption and evil. It incites burning anger that all those scumbags out there keep leeching life out of normal people and remain above law and justice, untouchable. Akumetsu them!!!

Interesting financial drama manga

It is a bit repetitive but has not lost its touch yet. The puzzle is being revealed slowly to keep the reader's interest up and that should have been the case from the beginning of the Manga.
Anyway, quite interesting, but I hope the story will warp up soon, as any further branching will make the story loose.

Good, but a few complaints

Before anyone goes crazy- 6.4 is actually a decent rating coming from me (when all of the manga on my lists are combined and averaged it comes out to around 4.8, last time I checked).

Anyway, there are a few good things about Akumetsu. It's clearly written to be thought provoking, and I actually quite like the way it addresses several intellectual concepts. The art is decidedly average, but it suits the environment well enough, especially the intensity. The real issues I have come with the excess of gore/violence (most of which is simply gratuitous and totally unnecessary), and some of the storytelling which I find to be often ill-paced and generally lazy. I suppose I'm just not the target audience when it comes to the violence, so I can overlook that, but the storytelling still gets me. In an attempt to seem more mysterious, suspense is vastly overused as a device which causes the plot twists to gradually become both predictable and mundane. Additionally, the way the author introduces more characters, and scenarios in general, is pretty formulaic. I can't help but occasionally feel that I'm reading the same thing over and over.

All that said though, this is a decent series, and worth the time to read for the concept alone.

this manga is great characters are deep u never know what might happen next and what makes this manga special its not the art ( even though art is great ) its the way mangaka tells the story i have readed many mangas till now and i can tell its diffrent from everything i have seen ( its kinda similar to death note in some ways but death note was created after the akumetsu ) the reason why i gave 9.5 because i have readen just 8 volumes and maybe ending will disapoint me but i doubt that

i recomend this to all who wants to read something out of ordinary ( i mean mangas like naruto bleach xblade and similar crap)

If you can forgive the bits of ranting politics and just give in to the flow of the story and the energy of the drawings you will greatly enjoy this manga. It is a tad wordy and you may not agree with the

one man one kill suicide assassinations for political officials
though after the manga explains actions I can't help but want it to happen. If you want great action, art and a decent story line pick it up.

a great manga, especially for intelectual readears because it raises many question about how people cold fix socities that have gone downhill. and he doesnt go killing randomly, since he let those three bankers alive so they could speed up the change of that society.
