10? 9.5? 9? Come on, people, what are you thinking with? 5 at most.
Well, I must admit that first half of it is sometimes interesting (might be around 7.5), but everything further (except for last chapters) is simply prolonged constant switching of 'her' between 'him' and 'it'. BORING.
Hardly worth reading even for free (let alone buying it to read) IMO.

Spoiler (highlight to view)
The most fun part was an author trying to put soul inside a computer. I rejoiced when this $1M crap was finally wrecked, since it was standing between two real hearts. BTW, it's a pity that he (and I mean 'him', not 'it') decided to pick her up even after she betrayed his feelings in favour of 'terminator' with well psychologically-crafted software. Jeez, where did he put his man's pride in?
Next one was 'she' (presumably, a virgin) trying to remember whether she was f**ked last night or not (indeed, it was impossible to check :-/ ). Now tell me she's worthy of someone who cared for her for YEARS, and didn't even look into other girls' directions. Not to mention he was handsome, smart and caring, unlike her. Though they are rivals in indecisiveness...
Most storyline turns are predictable, and it doesn't add much of interest.

Storyline sucks, to be short.
Artwork is relatively well-drawn, fun to look at and easy to understand, though lacks minor details.
To sum up: very average and too long manga. Read only if you have nothing good to spend your time on.

But the ending made me cry. I really liked all the characters, wished I could have seen a bit more development in some of the characters and it felt like the side characters had some untold stories to tell. I still gave it a 10 anyway, because I was glued to the story until the finish.

I thought the story was pretty good although their were a few times that the Riiko kinda annoyed me. I am an emotional person and this definetly had an ending that made me cry.

Emotional Breakdown

After finish reading this manga, all I have to say is.

Sheez! I suffered from a whole day of emotional breakdown. Yes, you can say it's pretty stupid. After i finished reading the manga, i CRIED. Literally, right off the spot when i saw Knighto wrapped up in the bag. T____T Knighto, come backkkkkkk! Knight was such a loving and adorable guy. I wished someone like that existed.
I hated how the story ended. At first i read this, and though. "Hmm, Absolute Boyfriend? Sounds interesting." And so i decided to read the first chapter and see how it went. And dang, after the first few chapters, I just had to keep on reading. I was sooo hooked up onto it that I left my homework alone and stayed up late just to read it. It took me two days to read it, because i had school and all. So i read it when i got back from school. During those two days, i totally neglected doing my homework.. and sleeping early.. =.=
The story was really catchy. And the first half of the manga is what made me hooked up into the story. I loved Knight. And I still do, a whole bunch!
Knight.. he's so sweet.. even though he's just a figure.. Knight.. He tried so hard to be a perfect boyfriend for Rikko, and even escaped and went back to Riiko even when he was mal-functioning. That part touched me the most. Even though he was just a figure, he tried really hard to be like a human.
This is one of the most touching manga's. Well for me anways. Just that.. i was really disappointed in the ending. I know, everything doesn't end happily ever after. But this was too much for me(YES I'M A SENSITIVE PERSON!). After being so attached with Knight through out the whole story... him in the end really struck me half broken.... i hated the ending! I cried, and after reading it.. it just made me not want to do anything at all..
One day, i shall create an new "ending option"
For every movie, manga, anime, etc.. before the last most important part of the movie, i'll just have the movie/manga/anime stop. There'll be two options, "Happy ending or Bad/Sad ending", and just have the reader/watcher select whichever one they want... T_T
Just for people like me who can't bare to watch any bad/sad ending..
It's been a whole day since i've been affected from it. Now I have to go find and read a "Happy ending" manga to get my mind away from Zettai Kareshi. sad
I would do a minus 1203987129387 on the rating because of the ending... But since I loved everything else, I will give it a PERFECT?!!?

-cries because of the ending T_T-

Zettai Kareshi started with such a large impact on me that I didn't want to stop reading it until I got to the end, which was VERY disappointing. I've known Watase to be a very good mangaka, but this series was definitely disappointing. It was well thought of and solid at the start, but the ending seemed like something an amateur 12-year-old author-wannabe would come up with. It was corny, too mushy and totally mediocre. It was like suddenly realizing that Barbie was a lesbian and would never end up with Ken no matter what. It's stupid how they fought for their love and at the end they- well, you get it....

Although its ending was abysmal, at the very least, the art was good and the storyline was interesting enough to keep me hooked. I would've rated the series a perfect ten if it wasn't for the ending.

So to sum it up in one line: If you want a story that is a great read with a wonderful plot and HOT characters, and don't mind LAME endings, then read Zettai Kareshi and be amazed.... XD

Reading the summary, I thought this is another story where a desperate and lonely girl would take great lengths to get herself a boyfriend. Whether a human or otherwise, just to have a boyfriend. But the concept of having a "perfect" boyfriend that you can customize according to your tastes tremendously appealed to me so I gave it a shot.

The first volume is interesting in a way that you want to find out how Night will prove to be an absolute great boyfriend to Riiko. I thought I could get past the shallowness of the female lead as I progress through reading it, but I was wrong. The love triangle between Night, Riiko and Soushi gave off instant fun but the magic soon lost its charms in later volumes. Riiko's ficklemindedness got into my nerves. She just can't make up her mind. She'd choose Night today, but she'd sway to Soshi tomorrow. I've never seen such heroine with wavering feelings until Riiko. But, kudos to Night because I was really touched when he learned to develop human feelings to be a great boyfriend to Riiko.

It has a loose and weak ending, the characters weren't developed as I'd have expected. I felt bad for Night, but not for Riiko. It was a light read, recommended for starters, and starters only.
