Description

Princess Nakaba of Senan is forced to marry Prince Caesar of the enemy country Belquat, tantamount to becoming a hostage. While Caesar is pleasing to the eye, he is also selfish and possessive, telling Nakaba outright: "You are my property." Long overdue glowing review

I can't believe I haven't given a glowing review about this yet.
It's 4:30am, though, so i'll keep it kinda short.
This manga is fantastic. One of the best shoujo I've ever read. In the top 3 at the very least. It blends multiple genres seamlessly. If it was given a seinen label I wouldn't be too surprised. There's only a couple of factors that push it to a more shoujo/josei style.The initial romance is dealt with quickly, which is great as otherwise it'd just be cliched and wouldn't move on for too long. It's got the potential to be an epic fantasy, really. I did not see the events of volume 10 coming haha 😀

Not the worst, but definitely not the best

If you're into the genre (namely, fantasy shoujo with an arranged marriage because of a conflict between countries), go for it. Otherwise, it's a miss (at least for me).
The lead couple is okay, I guess. There's nothing heinous about them, but there's nothing special about them either. They fall in love in one chapter, which is kind of annoying but to be expected. Honestly, most, if not all, of the characters are bland and cliche. However, the main issue that I have with it is that the story tries to juggle too many things at once. There's romance between the two leads, the heroine also has supernatural abilities, war is threatening to break between a couple countries, there's a civil rights-y bit with the subhumans, and the royal family sucks. It's just too much, and nothing gets enough spotlight in order to become engaging.
Unfortunately, Reimei no Arcana finds itself in a weird position. It tries to be more than the run of the mill brainless shoujo manga, but it bogs itself down with too much extra stuff. Because of this, the manga doesn't appeal to hardcore shoujo addicts (not enough romance), but it doesn't appeal to readers who're looking for something more than traditional shoujo (not enough substance).

I really like this series. I don't get where some people say it falls flat, though I do agree that the whole bit in Lithuanel is a bit boring. There's too many twists and turns for no reason. And I'm starting to think that there won't be a happy ending for Nakaba and Caesar :-( I hope thats not true..

I kinda agree on the whole arranged marriage thing (though I wouldn't like it in real like) but having the couple picked out already and watching them fall in love with each other is rather nice. And brings a smile to my face when it does happen. They always end up falling hard! The way that Toma sensei expresses the characters is amazing, and I really do like the artwork. Sure the story reminds me of other mangas, but the feel is completely different. One thing I have a problem with is that Nakaba is supposed to be a "strong" character, but I feel she was a lot stronger before she cut her hair. It's like the story of Samson.. Cut your hair and lose all your strength. I like that she kind of returned to herself in chapter 39, but it took so much for that to happen =/

My favorite characters are obviously Nakaba and Caesar because they're just so gosh darn cute together. And I don't know if it's just me, but I didn't really find him mean in the beginning. Boys always bully the girls they like haha At first I liked Loki, but I have to agree that there is something a little shady about him. I understand the whole loving Nakaba thing, but even that I find creepy since he did raise her. He should see her as a daughter or at least a younger sister smh

I think the whole reason for Nakaba and Caesar separating is bogus (rolls eyes) I mean really?!

I understand that Caesar had to leave her because she had things that she must finish and he had to become king so he could be with her the way he wants, but I still don't like it. I also understand that Nakaba HAD to marry that idiot Adel so she could become queen and take over and be prepared for when Caesar becomes king, but still. I also understand that Caesar had to marry Louise to get the army on his side and make his ascension to the throne that much easier, but why?!

I really hope that this won't go on forever and a day like [color=red]Goong[/color]. I really want to know how it'll end really soon. With this time skip that I hear is supposed to happen, I hope it shows Caesar and Nakaba together again. Tired of crying haha

Really Love It

I am a fan of arranged marriages and all of the cliched stuff that goes with them. The main pairing is decided for you and you get to watch them fall for each other once they get past their staggering differences.
I like the characters and their interactions. I find the hair color prejudice a little odd though. I can go along with it, but it strikes me as weird, anyway. I'm looking forward to how the plot unfolds. Love is important in a romance manga, but I'd rather have some political and social plots working through as well, and this manga has those.

Amazing yet flawed series

If I were to decribe Reimei no Arcana, it would be an amazing yet flawed manga. I am absolutely in love with the story and the artwork. I don't know why there are a few people who seem to claim that the art needs more work, but I think it fits the story well. The mangaka draws and writes emotional scenes very well and there are quite a few heartbreaking moments in this manga.

Now for the romance. I am absolutely in love/heartbreak with Caesar and Nakaba. I'm sorry Loki, even though you loved Nakaba first, it's very clear that Nakaba's heart belongs to Caesar and vice-versa. Too bad something happens later on in the series where they separate... and it just crushes my heart. There are way too many feels in this manga! Besides, Loki has always seemed a little bit shady to me. It always looks like he has /some/ kind of ulterior motive.

Anyway, even though Caesar was an ass in the beginning, he becomes someone who I look for in a hero. I believe that he loves Nakaba whole-heartedly and would do ANYTHING for her. Even going so far as to irrevocably commit something that can be labeled tragic in my opinion. She does the same thing as well. In order for change, you must give up something in return.

Overall, I'm really enjoying the story so far. I'm starting to see that this series will go on for quite some time since there are a bunch of unresolved feelings and the rest of the arcana members to be revealed. The reason why I'm claiming that this manga series is flawed is due to the fact that while the story started out really amazing, the later chapters are rather boring. Especially after the whole Akhil/Lithuanel arc. I'm completely clueless after that because there's apparently a time skip after chapter 39.

I really like this, but I feel like this manga deserves a max of 11volumes, its one of those story mangas...It's good but I'm not waiting for it, I'm sick and thred of waiting for the manga I love.

Anyway, this manga's not amazing to me. It's just ok tbh...I just hate Loki, and I feel like I don't know the characters...

I was put off from this initially since I hate the male leads who are just plain cruel, yet the girl is still with them. Well, that's definitely not the case here. Ceasar is like that for...a chapter? Then he has some type of revelation and becomes the more immature-jealous-affectionate type rather than the cold-possessive type of male lead. I didn't really see the justification for the sudden personality switch, but he new character was much cuter so no complaints.

That aside, this is pretty average shoujo. Two guys loving the same innocent/pure female lead type deal. She's at least a decent character on her own and can stand up for her self and make her own decisions. The art's cute, but could be better. It's nice there there's a plot revolving around something other than the romance too, so it hasn't been boring or repetitive yet. Loki seems to have some underlying motive all the time. The diversity aspect is nice too. Overall, I'd recommend it. L)

Splendid

This manga is splendid! I got hooked since the first volume.
I just randomly bought Viz' new-coming manga and this one is absolutely worth it! I really love Viz' translation, it makes you get the feeling right. At the moment, I'm still at Volume 2 (Viz), but I can tell that it's an interesting manga with historical-action-romance genre. I wish that Caesar had more dialogue script so we can get to know him more....
The plot is well done and the facial expressions are well done as well, and the background is quite detail and clean. Great first-fantasy-manga series from this mangaka. It doesn't disappoint and makes me want more. Hope it happens to other readers as well. 🙂

It a typical manga but it so cute that I think it wroth reading and I always wonder what will happen next.I'm not lying brought the book the moment I saw it in my bookstore. Also about the ability to see the future and past...I've haven't heard any of that. anyway ◘Still read it ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥

Predictable and a let-down

Its predictable and the story is told clumsily. Art wise faces are done nicely, bodies ok, bad hands and feet, so-so clothing, backgrounds are mediocre when there is any, action or movement is a joke. I was disappointed because I heard it was popular. I gave it 2 volumes, maybe it gets better later on but it wasn't sufficiently good in beginning to hold me.
