1 Volume (Complete)

I read it twice a while ago. After reading it again, I love it more. The rape is horrible, Shuri’s hardship is breathtaking and an example of growing up, and his relationship with Munemori is beautiful. I read Edo to Tokyo stories which end tragically. This is one of few to have a happy ending. There’s a dj story setting after the extra chapter, so please check it out!
this one is awesome manga. the plot and setting which take place in samurai era is very epic and brings old memory about old japan and samurai war. the characters design are also great. the uke ( shuri) is not too girly and he still show a pride and honor of a man despite his condition. and Muneori is simply a sweet and gentle seme. both of them really make a great couple.
however the ending is a bit too soon, it'd be much better if the happy life of shuri and muneori is made longer in this manga
somehow too mushy and sappy their love is. that boy is just consumed with diabetic love! tough the ending is half assed, but it is better than full blown tragedy. read if you can stand emo bleating. not that it is bad anyway.
Though I loved this manga I just couldn't ignore how quickly important events were skimmed over in order to make the story go faster. This includes character growth; going immediately from the devastation of gang rape and being suicidal to being happy-go-lucky and in love is too dramatic of a shift, even for a oneshot.
Regardless, I thought this was one of the most beautifully artistic works from this mangaka, and the plot was very good despite certain things not being expounded upon. It's not an outstanding masterpiece, but it definitely deserves a read from yaoi lovers.
This manga has it all: a very good plot, and a beautiful artwork. Mizukami's forte really is historical stories and this manga is probabely her best work. you could feel how it was to live in the time of samourai. The plot was heart-rending and breath-taking especially toward the end since events are rushed because of the breaking out of war. I found the uke very admirable and worthy !
The settings and clothes were also very pretty.
what does the story deal with ? honor, sacrifice, faithfulness, social background, self respect, respect toward the others, moral duties, and of course it deals with true LOVE.
this is my fav historical yaoi manga.
note you should be over 18 years old to read it, and if you're the squeamish type just pass for this one. because the author as usual put a bit of RAPE-seasoning in this manga.
The rape was horrible, although the characters got over it, I couldn't get over it. It was too much a part of the story for me to ignore... the rest was lovely Mizukami art/plot.
Sweet and sad. The art is beautiful, as well as the setting and the story. The rape's aftermath could have been handled better, though, and the ending felt a little tacked on and unbelievable.
