Tsuki no Shippo

Description

Usagi is the granddaughter of the leader of a prestigious ninja village, but she's such a klutz that she's never made it out of the lower class. Frustrated with Usagi's lack of progress, her grandfather sends her to marry Lord Hanzo with an order to breed many ninja children. But the lord has no interest in her or her childbearing potential!

Tsuki no shippo is a good manga. Its a good read. the story started as as ur typical shoujo and later on showed quite a character development. the Usagi(main lead) was not likeable at first, her character development made her more likeable than at first. yet, i cant say she's my favorite heroine of all. The art is good and clean.

On the negative side it suffers from the "harem syndrome" as i call it where many male characters fall in love with Usagi. a bit irritating to me. Also, there were parts where the author could have explored it more. She lead up to it, but dint flesh it out enuf. otherwise, those issues would have helped the manga more.

that being said, its a good read. i rate it as 8.

So I finally read the entire manga and I am glad to say that it is awesome...Usagi matures so well in the last part of the story as does Mamezo, however does stray away from the lightheartedness that it was when the manga bean.

As many others have commented, the heroine is very typical - whiny, lazy, and a little oblivious (or stupid, if you look at it that way). Not to mention always hungry and having people tell her to go on a diet. However, I, personally, like her anyway, despite all that. Yes, she's the basic main character, but that type of heroine is basic for a reason! One of the most popular manga of all time was Sailor Moon, who's Usagi is almost an exact clone of this Usagi! I understand people may get tired of reading the same character over and over, but I think it's worth it.

And, even if you don't agree with my views on Usagi, the rest of the cast is incredible as well. Mamezo is actually my favorite - he's just too adorable! I mean, a little boy with a bob-cat tail who's trying to protect a girl about eight years older then him? Tell me that's not 'awwww' material! And, of course, Hanzo is just awesome. His character development is fantastic, you can really see the way he changes along the whole journey from when you first meet him.

The plot, I think, is very, very good. There are almost constant twists and turns, and a cliffhanger at the end of pretty much every chapter. The history subtly woven in is interesting, and makes the story that much better. Small, seemingly meaningless things mentioned in, say, the second or third chapter, may turn out to be extremely important maybe the twentieth chapter. Then you look at it and think, "Oh! I remember that!", and feel that much more drawn in. I love it. And the action-filled ninja bits certainly up the thrill factor, turning this series into something much more then your typical shoujo.

Despite the fact that there haven't been any updates in almost seven whole months, I really love this manga. I'd recommend it to anyone.

I adore this Manga. although the heroine is a bit typical.
Its quirky and fun, and a laugh a minute, whilst keeping you on the edge of your feet. The art is also really good. I bought them of Bookdepository.
A great read. fans of the Genre will love it.
Though the ending is a bit of a let down...^_^
People, It's liscenced, All 15 volumes of it!
(Btw, the Twist In Vol 12 is AMAZING)
GO BUY IT!!!! It will waste Scanlators time translating it, and why should they when they could be translating some new fab manga thats not As Illegal.

i so totally love this manga!!! at first i thought that it would be one of those totally sucky mangas where the girl is so stupid and the all the guys come s running to save her... but its wasn't!!! i kind of reminds me of saiunkoku monogatari for some reason... i really love everything about it, including the ninja stuff!!!

All i can say is KYAAAAAA -

a total must read for everybody!!!!

theres only one thing.... when will chapter 37 come out the suspense is killing me!!!

omigosh!!! i read chaps 36- end in 2 days!!! and beat that im a busy person!!! i really love how it all came down... the character amazing is so wonderful!!! i really love it!!! how the story proceeded...the depth of it all!!! this is why i love historical

i dont know why everytime i want to say something about this managa...it always leaves me speechless.. i loved it really!! everything about it!! the romance may get a little bit problematic at times...their life being a bit dramatic at times..the characters being a bit stubborn at times...but i guess that makes a great story...YAY CONFLICT!!!

but i have to comment on the guys that could've ended up with usagi...

actually i like him he was the supporter kind of character...but then i guess we already have mamezou for that...so basically his the third wheel..but even though his the 3rd party i dont hate him..coz hes got that likable air around him not to mention the ultimate loyalty and love and protection..the sweetest thing that he did was to reject her because of his leg thinking that he is unworthy or something...which brings us to no.2!!!

Hanzo...
he was such a difficult person at the start...and even though he actually liked her...he still decided that she still has to get her qualifications to marry him...talk about strictness!!i must admit that i kind of hated him...god he already loves girl what is taking them so long just get with the happy ending!!! but that was actually what bring out the best in the story all the trials and challenges the usagi must faces and the companions he must face along the way to help her mature..which brings us to no.3!!!

i really loved this guy!! he was so cute...actually i also thought that she i mean he was a girl...i mean perhaps Rin-sensei actually made her i mean him that feeling while drawing her i mean him... even though he liked usagi very much she just let her go because he truly loves her...truly way down deep...and wants her to be happy and doesnt want to push himself on her....which is the complete opposite of no.4

even though he was a bad guy...i love him!!! yeah i really do!! he makes my stomach go weird...hes kindda bittersweet...everytime he blushes it was soooo cute!!! i know it was pretty cliche for the antagonist to fall for the protagonist but it would be nice if... <what am i thinking its already so nice!!!> but i really love him hes so sweet!!! the thing he does for usagi while shes in the cell was kindda...ya know~..and the way he made her stop...whoow that something for i guy to say but thing that i love most about him is the thing that he did in the end for usagi...it totally made up for all the attempted rape he made!!well I could understand that afterall he loves her and their enemies..he doesn’t know what to do!!! it "almost" made me cry...wheew he really is something.. if only... SFX" self-smack hey me that hurt!!!

well then about usagi...well i dont kindda got annoyed at her...even though shes whiny and a total glutton...thats because she does something to actually help and not make matters worse for everybody and when the moment comes to save her come it turns out she already saved herself!! shes always crying but shes strong and the development in the near end was the greatest!!!

its official anybody who reads manga should read this!!! you havent lived you manga reading life you havent read this yet or not going to!!!

but then yeah
it is also a little bit 2 graphic...

I read up tot he latest chapter, but plan to wait till either the whole things is scanlated, or all 15 volumes are published in english. This is because this manga is the type to weave out cliff hangers at end of chapters/volumes. I enjoy Hanzo, but hope he would fall for Usagi already-- though that would lose a strong interesting in many readers. Usagi sometimes is just too naive and childish, to the point that others view them as siblings than married couples (refer to end of volume 7). Anywho, will refer to this manga again in the future

A 7/10 for me right now, but may be rated higher/lower after successfully viewing the remaining volumes. (very likely to be higher)

its okay i love sara and hanzo though but for some reason i don't like the main character. i just don't like the heroine at all...she's just so imature and whinny all the time. i would have really enjoyed it if the heroine was stronger

the last time i heard anyone named Usagi was Sailormoon, so when i saw the heroine for this manga was named Usagi as well, i was interested. don't really liked the shinobi ninja crap but it was fun to read anyhow. the manga kept me going until i don't think i can let it go anytime soon. Usagi is very funny and interesting. i like it.
