I read a lot of mangas, and this manga's artstyle is the BESTEST i’ve ever seen. It is so sleek, clean, graphical, whimsical, expressive and dynamic.
I rarely read Shounen but i love the action in this manga a lot. Usually, I would skim read or skip the fighting and politics scene in almost every manga (since sometimes i can't even tell who's who 🤡 or what they're doing; and usually the politics is dragged out boringly with old uncles when i only care about my lovely MCs) but with this manga, i took my time to appreciate the drawings and read every word in their political conversation. The drawings are just so... fun and beautiful.
About the plot, 😭, overall I LOVE IT. I got so so so high when I reached to near the ending. I was super excited, I couldn't put my phone down for one second. This manga's pacing is absolutely purrfect. There's no filler, every scene/page is packed with the just right information and plotty layer to pull you in. It's really gripping. It has all the good flavors of every genre: action, mystery, drama, romance with a bit of spirituality
Haida's ex part
. I dont really mind the ecchi part as they are drawn really nicely, such as the perfect shape of Hyori’s breasts when being erhm, groped (i’m sorry) or the sophisticated back necklace detail when the blind twin offers Haida her body. Anyway, I mostly read shoujosei so reading an action once in a while like this feels pretty refreshing for me. It reminds me of those American/Western action movie plot line.
To sum up the last passage, from c.1 to about 14, 15, the manga was executed really well, almost perfectly, if you ask me. But the end kind of
disappoints me. I am most disappointed with the fact Haida still sleeps with multi women in the ending. 💔 And worse, in our FML house. At least get a room bro. But hey, it's my fault to expect that Hyori and Haida would be a couple right? ¯_༼ ಥ ‿ ಥ ༽_/¯ On second thoughts, it’s not: Ughhhh, why did the author have to add, like, romantic hints and touching moments near the ending if Haida is still a manwhore till ending
. The drama part was pretty good in my opinion, i got all the thrill for real. It was so good TvT. Now that i think of it, the Perfect world situation was solved pretty rushedly and wishy washily; but I still got the feels, so that’s okay by me.
About the characters: Awww I really love them: Our Miss Apple Head, Haida and the handsome senpai. I also like Hinata and Mythy too. I think that they did an amazing amazing job on Haida and Hyori’s character design, especially Haida. Someone in the comment said he’s like a Japanese Joker, and i thought wow that’s kinda brilliant. When the handsome senpai was introduced, i thought to myself ‘Welp, I much prefer Haida because obviously, he’s the main character and he is more interesting: He is dangerous, insane, half-hearted and brazen, but he also has that Yin in the Yang the moment he started to collaborate with Hyori. I love his slicked back hair and no eyebrow yet still very handsome design too 😀
However, my love for this character decreased by half in that one chapter where Mythy said Haida asked her to serve Beam 🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡 like uhmmm WHAT BRO? I know like we don’t treat fiction like reality and half of the characters in this Underworld themed manga have like distorted worldview but what- Mythy is still a child and when romanticizing pedophilia is ABSOLUTELY NOT OK, the fact Haida TOLD her to serve Beam ughhh disappoints, disgusts and frustrates me even more. like, i trusted and i even liked you bro TvT. Remember when you said you don’t kill Children and Women? The rest of my liking for bro also vanished in the last chapter anyway. 🤡 On the other hand, Hiyori is your cute, a little dumb and kind female lead. I Love homegirl so much. In the Tokyo Tower scene, When she woke up for a moment during her unconsciousness and badassly kick the dude, then chose to threw herself down the Tower, icecreammmed like crazyy.
As much as I love this author’s art, his decision for the romance part in the ending disappoints me, not only this time but also with his other work, I-revo. I still love this manga a lot so i’ll just pretend like the stupid things that irks me never exists. Hiyori’s last dream about her father made me tear up a little too. Too bad the author only writes ecchi now
