Description
Official English: INKR Comics, Azuki

Naoto Watari has had his share of struggles: His parents died two years ago, and now he and his sister live at his aunt’s house. There, his desire to protect his sister earned him notoriety as “the guy with the sister complex,”—which never mattered to him, as his sister always came first. But when Satsuki, a childhood friend-turned-enemy, becomes his school mate, Naoto’s ordinary life is thrown into chaos … and Satsuki may just be the beginning.

I only read this because I wanted to know why she destroyed the garden
by trunkallergy

Rating: 5.0  / 10.0
That is literally it. I read through just about this whole thing because I had invested too much time to not know the answer, and it was only answered like 15 chapters before the end, so I just went ahead and finished it.

Spoiler (mouse over to view)
so for everyone who was like me and just wants to know why she trashed their garden for no reason as a kid, it's a completely bs and nonsensical reason. It's just because she was going to have to move the next day, and she was mad at mc for not running away from home with her. That's literally it.

Other than that, don't even bother with this unless you really like drama. Honestly, at no point was I happy reading this. It's not the worst thing ever by any means, but I just didn't like the girls and their mindsets. Everyone is talking about how much mc is a pathetic herbivore, but that's really nothing new, and he's not blowing other Japanese MC's out of the water or anything. The real issue is the two girls, especially satsuki (the blond). Yukari was mostly fine, just irritating by virtue of overwhelming insecurity, but seeing as satuski was the winner in the end, I wasn't happy because she was a petty bitch throughout the whole thing, doing annoying drama stuff like confessing when he's dating yukari, running away when he loves her, etc, not helped at all by the fact that MC is such a wishy washy guy. So even though they get their happy end, fuck them both.

A couple people mentioned ntr vibes, they're on crack, there's no ntr unless you consider MC's indecision and showing attention to multiple women to be ntr, which I guess it pretty much is, so ya then, it's ntr.

On the plus side, the little sister is extremely adorable and funny, and a lot of the side characters, like the glasses dude or that long sleeves girl, are actually pretty likeable, definitely moreso than the main cast.

I say 5, but that's me trying to correct for how much I don't like dramas. With how much I hate dramas and negative emotion (which is here in spades), my enjoyment was closer to a 3, but I think someone that likes dramas and isn't turned off by the mc being less than decisive/forward, would probably be a 6 or 7.

Much like the MC of Jiken Jaken, Watari doesn't know what's good for him.

Gutless man

I'm kinda tired of the male MC being so gutless and overly sensitive. And I am damn sure tired of his girlfriend constantly trying to take the initiative with regards to sex and he constantly says "it's too soon". I'm aware that Japanese men are famously gutless and females tend to be more assertive I'm real life (grass fed men, as they're called) but this is manga, at least make the male a little less of a sissy.

The MC ruined it for me

I’ve picked up the series twice. Didn’t like it much The first time around. So I picked it up again later got further than I did last time but still ended up dropping it. Mostly because of the main character.

He is often so beta it hurts. I normally hate using that term to describe people, but it just fits the MC so well. For me the problems started to rise very early on when one of the love interest forcefully kisses him and he just kinda flails around pathetically, eventually passing out. He doesn’t like it, just push the god damn girl off of you, but no. They try to explain it as “he doesn’t want raise a hand against a girl” but that is such a bad throwaway excuse. Often he gets extremely flustered over anything slightly provocative (a common trope I can normally over look, but it really kinda adds to the beta feel of his character). He also does some infuriating stuff
Spoiler (mouse over to view)
he gets a girlfriend and then proceeds to pay attention and take care of every other female that he knows rather than pay attention to her

What broke the camels back for me is how there is so much bad mellow drama. No one ever fully understands or explains anything to anyone. It’s all a bunch of “well you should know why I’m upset or flustered”. They also keep talking about how one girl destroyed this guy’s family field and now he hates her. She never explains why she does it. There is obviously some big misunderstanding or some shit, only made worse by the fact that no one bothers to talk to anyone about anything.

I liked the premise of the series. It had a pretty good start. But I just find the plot so far to be just mediocre melodrama.

Missed opportunity

I am about 20 chapters in and about 5 seconds from giving up. There were moments of intrigue, particularly early on, where it looked like we might have some sort of psycho-trifecta going on with the three main girls. However, it's now just devolved into a tedious sequence of "misunderstandings", with the MC constantly finding himself in the most impossibly opportune circumstances for fostering tension between himself and the two love interests. I do not want to read another 10 anxiety-filled chapters without some sort of resolve and plot development.

The art is quite good and I think Satsuki has potential to be an interesting character, but the rest of the cast are forgettable tropes

I hate the MC

Good art and pretty good plot.

HOWEVER, I cannot stand the MC.
Spoiler (mouse over to view)
This guy gets a girlfriend and then literally puts the needs of every other girl he knows before her's. One of the girls is capable of solving her own problems, but he still worries about her because he doesn't realize that she is fine. This behavior is so infuriating to me that I had to stop reading this series.

Solid harem

Honestly I'm heavily reminded of to love ru but the Mc is likeable, there are very few lucky perverted moments, and there's something a bit more... solid about the characters. The mostly main characters do all seem to hold some emotional scars/secrets which seem like they will be revealed a long time from now. There is none of the wishy washy 20 chapters to confess and possibly kiss, just some misunderstandings and a few rare cases of really really dense stupidity though mostly resolved in a very non overly dramatic way.

So far(chapter 30) we have a kuudere(heavy dere), potential yandere, a tsundere, and a loli incest route for the mc, nicely paced.

Satsuki best girl though

An interesting take on the Harem genre
by Ctr135

After the void that abnormal kei Joshi left in my heart, I looked for harem that would still grab my interest. as I got tired of most of them being that the main character was either a unnecessarily week willed man or disgustingly rapey and piggish type of man. So between the Isekai's and other rehashed harems, this one isn't too bad. The main character has backbone, the girls while still drawn attractive have more to add to the plot than just then "plot", and the tension is pretty good. My only complaint is that all though main character isn't spineless he can still be a little to timid sometimes.Although from the reason chapter it seems like that might not be the case I hope that only gets developed more.
