D Senjou no Alice

Description

As punishment for slacking on the job, the shinigami Lapan is ordered to go to the Human Realm in the body of a skeleton to retrieve a wandering soul. However, much to Lapan’s lecherous delight, a slip-up lands his soul in the body of the young Alice, a buxom student at a local all-girls’ school. With the skirt-chasing shinigami (as Alice) leaving a storm of sexual harassment allegations in his wake, whatever is poor, beskeletoned Alice to do?!

I looked at this and thought, yuck: ecchi...
I looked through it and thought, hmmmm, actually looks interesting.
I finished it and am glad that I read it. I really loved it.

Main premise is that a God of Death (Shinigami) is sent to the human world to exterminate a spirit that does not want to pass on. The body his superiors arranged for him was a skeleton, but due to some problem, he finds himself in the body of a pretty girl, who's spirit got stuck in the skeleton instead. This wouldn't be a problem, if the main guy wasn't so perverted!

Plot:
The story doesn't sound too interesting, but it actually is. It starts out as something small, and will seem a bit episodic (that every arc has nothing to do with the story) but after a few chapters, all the points start to connect and you will see that they aren't that episodic after all.

Comedy:
The main character is very funny, and most males would behave a bit pervertedly if they find themselves stuck in the body of such a beautiful girl (although he takes it waaaaay to far). The girl is also very protective of the body the Shinigami resides in, leading to very comedic scenes. Other characters also come in later, all with their personal fluffs that add to the fun!

Romance:
I have one personal problem, the manga I read must have at least a kiss in it, but not all lovey dovey either (like shoujo...). This was exactly right in that perspective, the romance is kind of lighthearted, but it definitely there.

Action:
The action in this series is cool, but not over the top. I liked it because I was able to keep up with the fight and what was moving on, which sometimes isn't the case.

I recommend this series to anyone looking for some comedy, action and/or light hearted romance. This is actually one of my favorites (together with Psycho Busters ).
Also, if you think 4 volumes is too short, be happy that it ended, for the end usually has the greatest impact. (And a lot cheaper on your wallet 😛 )

Hot character designs, but the "plot" is next to non-existent and its basically a fanservice series. "Fight" scenes are pathetic and the author enjoys putting in lots of "LUL SO RANDUM I AM A BOY IN A GIRL'S BODY" scenes to try and be funny(but fail).

Author also fails at belivability considering theres a freaking skeleton running around in broad daylight many times but few people find it suspicious, meanwhile the MC, despite being in a smoking hot female body, refuses to have sex with another shinigami on a hot female body, despite multiple scenes of the MC sexually harassing other girls.

All in all its just a generic "perverted guy gets turned into a girl, wacky hjinks occur" series.

it's very funny and I like it even though the plot is not so great but it'll keep you laughing. I hope there will some kind of romance. I just started reading so i don't know but i'm keeping my fingers crossed.

I really really really hope that a scanlating group will pick up this manga.

i think its funny. Kinda making you laugh even at the sadder parts. it´s one of my most favourite mangas i´ve ever read...

I read the end of this manga and its beautiful... I cant descripe it!!!! I never thought it would end like this i hope there will be more vol. for this manga... btw the end is soooo romantic!!! cry

Nice Manga. I do not like the drawing style sometimes, but characters are so are quite well developed. The only bad stuff I find is the easy jokes about ecchi situations and the fixation of our ... er... hero? about 'revealing' dresses. Sometimes I think this manga is quite yuri too... Shinigami personal tends to borrow only female bodys? XP

Okie, Shinigami are common read, but this is so funny! Unpredictable and well drawn. If you like light-hearted gags and don't mind a bit of blood, give this a try. The characters are so lovable! Not to mention, the main heroine, Alice, looks as skinny as many girls would love to look....or maybe too much?
