Disappointed...

This is the first time I didn't like a work of Yamakami sensei.

First it lasted too long, at the end of volume two I actually thought it was the end, but I discovered there were more chapters. And from then on, even though the circumstances changed, the problem remained the same, that is to say Naoyuki not understanding his own feelings, and so I got bored.

Furthermore, even if don't mind reading stories about someone that can't tell if he's in love or not, it was just too much here. Naoyuki's mixing romantic, friendly and family's relationships to the point where it's just not believable. That made me angry because at times he can be really bright, but all in all this doesn't make Naoyuki's character credible.

Satoshi's not developed enough to make him endearing, or at least to let us understand him. We never know why he acts the way he acts. And I found his falling in love a bit too rushed and baseless. Actually I wish we could have seen things more from his POV.

It had good parts enough to keep me reading, but those didn't catch up for the rest, and in the end I was just frustrated.

It begins with a country boy searching for the person supposed to pick him up. On top of a street pole. Needless to say, I believe I will enjoy this manga greatly.

Later: Err....12 times? Er...

Even later: Awww, the obliviousness is adorable! Heavy feeling on your heart....no, you did not eat too many greasy foods; you're in LOOOOOVE!

Even More Later: Lol, cheesy rescue scene averted.

People actually think this ridiculous manga is sweet confused
Spoiler (highlight to view)
Naoyuki is a moron that doesnt know the difference of liking someone as a friend, or having romantic feelings for them.
Satoshi is a comple jerk throughout the entire manga, he rapes Nao and then proceeds to make out with some girl (never says if they slept together) and for some reason Nao decides he loves him and they end up together. Again in Volume 4 Satoshi is making out with another girl and naturally this bothers Nao, but Satoshi never outright says to Nao that he isnt sleeping around, he tells someone else that he doesnt do that anymore, but what about the girl that kissed him at the bar? why is Satoshi being so secretive? Nao is worried because his boyfriend acts in a way that makes his boyfriend not trust him, but instead of reasuring him, he just ignores him and they get back together and he never does tell Nao if he sleeping with other girls....the way he acts is too suspicious. it seems to me that Nao is going to have to put up with a cheating lying jerk of a boyfriend....

Satoshi's a complete a**hole. 4 volumes and I couldn't warm up to him. I like the concept for Naoyuki's character. Of being new to a world that most take advantage of. And I like some of his character growth. But I really don't see what there was to love at all about Satoshi. And I felt like Naoyuki wasn't slowly falling in love, more than he was slowly getting used to being depended on as a sex doll for Satoshi, and mistaking his emotions from trauma to be love. I wish Naoyuki would have hooked up with his friend.

When I first started reading this series, I didn't like Satoshi's character at all, and it seemed like Yamakami-sensei had it all wrong, starting the relationship with bullying, sex, and rape. But thankfully, Yamakami-sensei gradually began to build Satoshi's character into someone I could empathize with, and the series became sweet after that. I really like Naoyuki's character. Even though he's naive at times, he stands up for himself and is a strong character (literally and figuratively), and the comedic moments are nice.

i really like Yamakami's stories and i really enjoy reading this manga too. The only thing that bother me a little is his artwork that i find in lots of scenes a little "weird".
But Takaramono is definitlely worth to read (as expected like all her others mangas) The characters are so touching!
