Dan and Jerry, a ragtag duo who'd been to every party in college, were incredibly similar and compatible friends, but a certain incident led to their estrangement.

Ten years later, on a white Christmas, Jerry is kidnapped by Dan while gambling at a casino. Dan proposes a game of chess with a bet:

As they play chess, recalling the events they'd rather not remember, a tense atmosphere flows between them. In this uncomfortable situation, Dan aims his gun at Jerry, who tries to escape.
