Art is superb, storytelling is excellent, characters are enjoyable, but man am I glad I picked this up after 70+ chapters have been translated because I would not have enjoyed waiting for new chapters to come out.
The story utilizes a lot of flashbacks and tangent storylines (as in, it gives plenty of in-depth stories of seemingly random characters) to unravel the main mystery of who main characters Munryeong and Paljae are and what kind of life they'd live (and will live). This gives way to making it easier to digest some of the intrinsic world-building, but it does tend to leave you with more questions about what's going on in the main storyline (that definitely would've spiked my anxiety if I had picked this up when the English chapters were first coming out).
I quite enjoy delving deeper into Korean mythology and lore and seeing the routes the author takes to make it all work (bc myths can often be contradictory and illogical). But highlights are definitely seeing the developing mystery unfold abt our main characters. However, there are a lot of tragic stories, both in the main story and in most of the side stories, so new readers may want to prepare for that.
For anyone wary about the "age gap" (bc this is definitely a BL), you'd have to keep in mind of the characters' circumstances, including who and what they are:

Spoiler (mouse over to view)
the story starts with both Munryeong and Paljae being way, way older (at least 600+ years) than they seemingly appear to be. Munryeong will treat Paljae as a child solely because of his appearance but he also knows that Paljae is much older and his appearance is only from his body being affected by his lack/instability with his power. Paljae also knows he's not a child, but he can't remember his past when the story starts and is basically a blank slate in terms of understanding how humanity works.
Spoiler (mouse over to view)
It's practically confirmed that Munryeong isn't human but only grew up as one after being found and adopted by his human father, and Paljae is actually the next in line to take over as divine turtle beast/god (from the myth of the 4 divine beast that rule each cardinal direction-usually they're the dragon, turtle, tiger, phoenix, but it can vary in cultures--so you can say he's actually a turtle /jk).
We find out in the most recent chapters that Paljae and Munryeong met when Paljae was 3yo (tho he looked like an adult, but he says he's 3--update: he stole a sword master's experience and that's why he looks like an adult) and before Munryeong's 10th birthday, the age he was determined to die (the story is hinting that this meeting is probably what extended Munryeong's life--we're still in the middle of the flashback, so this is an inference). So that's their real age gap, and yes, Munryeong is the older one.
