So, it's basically about a high school girl falling in love with a firefighter and they get themselves into all sorts of cliche shoujo situations. It's cute, and I'm a sucker for age gap romances, but I keep waiting for the female lead to stop being weak but it isn't happening.

I actually find this manga a little offensive. There are a lot of scenes where the main character is carrying a box or something, and a guy will come along and say 'That's too heavy for a girl to carry', and I'm sitting here thinking, 'Um, but she was carrying it already'.
Why is the female lead always so weak and helpless and needing to be saved? She gets herself into at least one life or death situation per chapter and the male lead is always miraculously there to save her. It's ridiculous and irritating.

The manga isn't boring, though, and has nice art, so I'll probably keep reading it. I just think mangaka in Japan need to stop portraying girls like this. There's nothing wrong with having the female lead rescued by a guy or helped by a guy, just stop making it look like we're completely useless without them.

This is a guilty pleasure read for me because it's so stereotypical shoujo hahah, it's cute but also very cookie cutter story. The whole firefighter aspect is a nice touch though.

There's a way for an author to have good pacing while keeping the first chapter interesting. This manga doesn't do that.

In the first chapter, the heroine smokes on the roof while there's a fire drill, she's saved by a fireman, she meets the fireman at the grocery store while she's shopping w/ her little brother, the little brother is starstruck by how cool the fireman is, lo and behold the fireman is a neighbor, the heroine goes home and some arsonist sets fire to her house, the heroine get stuck and honestly. I stopped browsing there.

What I'm going to say happened is she coughs and passes out and the fireman magically shows up, saves the girl, stops the arsonist... Boring. It's written like a manga that came out in 2003, not 2016. Let's keep it a little modern, huhconfused
