Description

The beautiful, white skin of high school student Ichijou Seika stole the heart of the young genius painter Manabe Akiharu. If I wouldn't have rated this manga with ten points already, I would have definetly raised my rating after reading some of the comments on this side.

a) She doesn't even LOOK like a 12, 13 year old. She does look a little bit young, but not enough to make it all disturbing. Stop ranting about it, it's ridiculous. If we would have never known the age of our main chara, nobody would make a fuss about it! He doesn't look like a 24 year old guy anyway...and the girl is 16, o come on. Which obviously brings me to point b.
b) Age Difference. How come nobody is fussing over it in Skip Beat, but here in Hakuji?
c) Molesting, pervert, etc. He's an artist, not your usual perfect I-will-always-protect-you-just-for-a-kiss-high-school-prince straight out of so many shoujo mangas. Meaning, it's realistic. Although the mangaka really focused more on that element, I admit that. But come on, it's not a smut manga (at least I won't count it as one) and by no far a hentai. Seinen is also a lot worse, so stop it. Focusing on that... can't you focus on the STORY? Or the ART? Or maybe also the CHARACTERS?

The art is - I have to admit that - only better than average. It gets better later on though, and it's still very pretty to look on. The story is very interesting, also because of the psychological factor. Characters are also very likeable, but the focus is on the two main characters. I wished others would have been involved more, but then again it wouldn't have stopped at two volumes.
I loved the artist element. It's an original part in a way, and I would have liked to see more about it. About his life as an artist, how he thinks about various things... but then again, I repeat, two volumes. And people who aren't really into art would be annoyed, so nevermind 😉
Their relationship of those two was really sweet. The plot moves fast, but not too fast, and it's really okay! It doesn't posess much depth, but it's very entertaining. I enjoyed it ^^ I'll look forward to the final chapter and the extra!

It made me blush even when you don't really "see" anything worth blushing xD
It's not creepy, it's sensual...and a person is molested when they don't like neither want to be touched. I mean, she isn't 4 years she knows what will happen (and that's quite clear) xD
Sorry, I' not trying to be rude but I can't stop thinking that the ones who can't see that are kids xD Because this was about growing up actually...And when he grew up was when he could understand that it wasn't perverted xD I mean, even her, who was younger, could understand that (well, his friend did say that he kept being a kid for special reasons).

This manga was really great. It had deep meaning even though it was a shoujo manga.
Art was really pretty, and I liked it. I don't understand how people were like, " EHMAHGAWD. HES HAVING DIRTY THOUGHTS, THATS NOT SHOUJO, THATS TOTALLY NOT CUTE. HES A PERV.". It's bothering me how they really don't understand deep meanings to this.
NO, SHE DID NOT FREAKIN GET MOLESTED. SHES LIKE IN HIGH SCHOOL. She's about same height as him. And she kissed him too, remember? NO, HE IS NOT A PERVERT. He was just confused because he is still like a child when he's 20. What did you guys read? It was all freakin explained in the story. It's not creepy at all. It's just not the usual kind of "a high school girl & a boy falling in love, having a love triangle, boy tells girl he loves her, end of story" shoujo thing. It has actually a unique 'deep' meaning to the story. So I guess if you are a girl or a boy who just likes to read those sweet little romance shoujos, I wouldn't recommend this. If you like a unique story with a deep meanings and psychology, I definitely recommend this to you. I just wish this manga was longer.

First of all, Seika is not 12 or 13 years old. If you read the releases properly, you'll be able to read in a chapter somewhere that Seika is 16 or so. Also, this manga is not creepy at all. It expresses Akiharu's thoughts, and... well, we can say that he is mentally underdeveloped since he was stuck inside painting for many years of his life. Many artists use different kinds of methods on how to be able to know/feel what their subject is feeling to be able to express it properly on canvas. It just so happens that Akiharu needs to touch Seika, but it's not like he's taking advantage of her. It's a mutual thing.

As far as art goes, I think it's very pleasing to the eyes. It also matches the story very well. I've never read a manga like this before, so I think it's pretty original--- plot-wise. The characters are well-made too, each character can stand on its own and has their own personalities. All in all, bias aside, I think this manga is a good read. It only has 6 chapters, but it's definitely worth the read. It's not creepy at all.

i really liked the character growth; it was even more impressive because there wasn't much "outside" drama to build or tear their relationship, it was all internal and between the two of them. it was an intense love, and i liked it a lot. 🙂 sometimes the emotions were a bit too intense for the situation, but i believe in their own way they were justified...

the art is beautiful too~~ i wish we knew for certain

whether she was able to see again or not... i'd like to think so... so yeah, i'll just go ahead and say yes. :) even so, i really don't think it would matter which is the cute part! i also think their relationship is continuing to grow stronger and stronger

i also think it wasn't creepy; it just delved more into the male protagonist point of view, and the lust he was inevitably feeling for her battling with the childlike notion he's had growing up. i believe that, although he was a bit more... drawn... to her haha. 😉

Amazing. I didn't know shoujo could examine a character in depth like this. Normally, this is what I expect from josei, but apparently, shoujo has reached a new depth!

I didn't like the art. It didn't flow very smoothly(at least to me). And parts of the plot seemed a bit unbelievable for me(are there really parents who think this way? o____o) This manga blurred the lines between shoujo and josei. The content was just very interesting.

But the art doesn't fit it at some moments, and parts of the story felt lacking. It doesn't make for a very addictive read, but I would probably remember this oneshot. Pretty memorable.

Internal struggles

It's nice reading about a love story which highlights the madness and anxiety of someone falling in love. Although 90% of the inner voice in this story belongs to the guy, I was still satisfied with how the author showed the effect of insecurity in a relationship. This was tagged as psychological as most of the story is about coping with internal struggles, but the dramatic twist in the middle kind of left me with a depressed feeling. Then again, the manga ended well so it deserves a good rating.

I am still not sure if they're pure or sick. They act normal. The guy is like the perfect boyfriend and she is a perfect girl. It's just... off. Also the twisted and strange mentality being described here is being perfectly off set by morie satoshi's clean, white style. This just threw me from one emotion to the next. I've never felt so yanked around.

I can't shake the feeling of fragility in their relationship. It's like the whole thing could collapse into some mutual destructive depression. If she ever left him I can't see either one recovering and, frankly, there are some yandere tendencies going on that I don't like at all.

See? This is what this manga did to me. I'm over half-convinced those two are real people. I can't even concentrate on the words or art or anything because those two characters have me watching their every move. I can't think. It's like I don't even have to. They don't need me or their story. They only need each other. It's creepy.

i was all like wow...

its so deep...the meaning is soooooo...it has enough substance and meaning to make up a series...wait...woooow...

you really have to read this its sooo beautiful...

i really have to give this a 10!!!!

so basically this is a oneshot turned series.. i have read this before so i was incredibly surprised to found out that this turned into a series.. and after reading this i dont know if i should be happy about that or not.. the thing about this manga is that it can be incredibly dark and over shoujo flowery- fluffy at times and i guess thats something to like.. and also Seika-chan, i dont get what she is! its like she was so plain! i mean.. she just lets him do this and that to her.. and nothing she just gets along with it.. shes weird as well.. and as for Akiharu hes a unique character.. so that revives the point for the plain heroine.. i guess.. my rating used to be a 10/10 but know i guess that turning it into a series just dragged it.. im gonna make it 8/10

Oh wow. This was really interesting, kinda a pity it was only 1 chapter. Being still a child inside, he thinks his thoughs are impure, dirty, and the manga really gives off that feeling. And that's also why it is scary, cause he is scared. He's ashamed, he struggles, till he understands at the end that there's nothing wrong with loving each other that way, and they "grow up together". x3;.
