Yakuza Girl

Description

Senguu Fumihiro is a young boy that made a promise to his dying grandmother to find a good wife for himself. With this intention he enrolls in a prestigious school but on the first day his world turns upside down when all the students begin to kill each other and one of them even turns into a monster. He is saved by a girl named "Akari", sent to protect him by one of the factions that rule the school.

Everything about this title is a little off. The story seems really interesting so far, but it's poorly executed. Events jump all over the place without any clear break -- sometimes the story will just shift from one situation and set of characters to a completely different one, with no indication anything's changed (except it's confusing). The characters are interesting, but there's too many of them, and minor characters that are only seen once every third chapter will suddenly appear and do something totally insane, and then disappear for chapters again. It's difficult to become attached to any of the characters, with the exception of the two main characters, because there's very little development. Speaking of the main charachters, Senguu and Akari are likable, but there's no real depth to them, so it's difficult to feel any attachment to them. Any sort of serious behavior on their parts just seems like it's getting in the way of the action and pantsu. Speaking of pantsu, YG is overflowing with ecchi fanservice. Honestly, too much. I'm all for gratuitous nudity, etc, but there's gratuitous and GRATUITOUS, and this title falls into that latter "holy crap wow O_o" category. The fanservice is distracting, and sometimes just weird-looking. Which bring us to the artwork. For a title with so much great artwork, I'm stunned at how much seriously crappy artwork there is. I mean, we're talking about some serious QUALITY artwork here. When I'm looking at an image of a half-clothed girl, it'd be nice if her body parts were drawn 1.) proportionally, 2.) consistently between one panel and the next, and 3.) undistorted - as in "the body is not shaped like that". Terrible artwork mixed with great artwork is so frustrating. This title seems like the whole thing is a cookie-cutter-generic, "throw everything that's popular with boy's manga in - that'll make it sell well", recycled and unoriginal. Sad, because it really does have a lot of potential...

Too long; didn't read? Fun story, but it's obvious the author/artist were rushed, and it shows. Big time.

7/10 for raw potential and pantsu.

Edit After Sudden Series Completion at Chapter 11: Guess the publishers felt the same way.

...ugh ummm the male protagonist is weak... well compare to things that human won't ever meet i guess its normal but he could stop crying and get a fucking sword and start swinging even if you holding the sword wrong...lawl... umm the story is rather dark.. i mean once you take all the situation in. its like a bunch of cute faces that will kill you in a second.

Terrible manga

There is nothing wrong with mangas focused on action and spiced with a bit of sexyness, they are a light read to kill a bit of time.

But this manga is plain awful, characters and story are completely nonsensical and the art only shines in very brief moments (usally the ecchi ones) Probably the worst manga I have ever read.

I think this is a great manga, i had fun beginning to end, but one gripe i had, was it should have been longer, it had potential to be a long running manga, and it's popularity sure has grown, but apart from the length it was a wild ride, i still give it a ten, because it's what it deserves, anyone giving anything lower, don't like violence or adult situations or are just nitpicking.

Don't waste your time

This is (for the time being of course) the worst manga I've ever laid my eyes upon. The only good thing that came from this manga was the first chapter, there are some decent moments sprinkled in from time to time but those moments don't matter since the plot equates to a pile of horse manure. I'm not going to lie when I say that the only reason I even bothered to read this hot garbage was because of the female lead Akari because I really liked her design, she was also quite badass in the first chapter and throughout some chapters in the story but most of the time she was portrayed as a typical shounen female character that needed to be saved.......what a letdown =_=

I'm aware that this manga was axed after only 11 chapters, which does make me feel a little bad for saying its shit (sarcasm) but I also know that there are other manga that have the same/less amount or more chapters than Yakuza Girl that were cancelled that have more interesting storytelling and characters.

In conclusion, avoid this piece of trash because there are plenty of short storys out there that are much better

Bad Story, Cute Romance

Honestly a terrible story with lazy story structure/progression.... and yet I'm strangely attracted to it. Maybe it's the cute romance.

(Also, don't expect good art, the characters profiles are totally out of proportion. I mean I'll let a little breast/hip/muscle expansion slide, but Yu-Go-sensei did to this borders on deformity.

Alot of ecchiness, blood, and guts. The story makes no sense, and everything is rushed. Not a bad manga to waste a few hours but other then that its a throw away.

Yeah..so was it any good ?
I think yes, yes it is.
PRO:
-bloody
-everything is exaggerated
-echi
-shounen
-nice "awakening" ending (where you think: OH THATS WHY !)(hence the title)

CON:
-normal "weak boy falls in love - wants to protect the girl - trains and becomes ridiculously strong" kind of story
-near the end kinda confusing (without rereading it you dont get all the details but the overall story is clear)

conclusion:
short, good looking manga for a nice evening (read through it in about one hour)

Everything happens too quickly, leaving no room for a development of a good history, yet the action, ecchi and some comedy, are enough during the short 2 volumes, in the end is so short that there is not much time to get tired of the bad history.

The ecchi level is awesome, the killing is so gruesome, I want more because we all can guess the weak protagonist might have some special power that is even stronger than everyone yet it is not fully awakened yet just so typical of manga to make the main character start weak than gain immense strength later, but this series is too new and I hate to wait till that happen so I will come back to this when there are more releases.
