This Isekai has the trope of having a town with an exact replica of Japanese tradition and culture, being there for no reason than to have a "Japanese" "love" "interest" for the MC

i don’t know how to feel about this series, “misunderstanding” ruins it for me

i’ve read the novel way back and decided to read the adaptation when i realized it existed. i have the same problems with it that i did with the novel. it’s not amazing, but i do enjoy it even if it’s a bit generic. the problem for me has to do with its premise.
the deal is that this is an isekai-into-a-game-character novel, but the protagonist has some vague in-character restriction that doesn’t prevent him from doing stuff, but does make him talk like the OG character. so basically an edgy villain trying to disguise his good actions with harsh words and justifications on how it benefits him.
this is where the “misunderstanding” tag comes into play. basically harold runs around with his game knowledge and forced rude speech trying to prepare for the future and everyone witnessing it thinks it’s the original harold who has just secretly always been a good person and is dealing with the heavy burden of his villainous family and people assuming he’s just like them, struggling all alone to do the right thing. and they’re moved by this noble kid with evil parents who has no reason to try to do good but does anyway.
so all of his relationships come off as horribly disingenuous [[and his relationships are already kind of bland because everyone is basically sucking harold’s dick within 5 minutes of meeting him, but i’m choosing to ignore that because when i’m reading isekais i am signing up for some gary stu bs and if it bothers me i should go read something else]] because it’s just the whole cast misinterpreting harold, so it ruins any heartwarming moments because everyone is connecting with a person who does not exist. worse, the version of harold that is just the delusion of the other characters is fundamentally more interesting than the one we get, who is just some generic isekai protag, good-natured refreshing japanese teenager, etc. no personality to speak off whatsoever
so yeah, when i read this i just pretend the imaginary harold is the real harold and ignore all the boring isekai protag stuff i guess? but then why am i even reading?? “i only enjoy this series if i ignore all 95% of the main character’s personality and basically pretend i’m reading something else”?? that’s not exactly words of praise here.
man, author should have just made harold an edgy angst man dark hero instead of this dumb death flag obsessed loser. or maybe i just think that because i listened to too much linkin park as a child. fuck.

One of the only isekai that actually releases regularly, not the 2-3 volumes in 2 years that you usually get in the genre.
The MC is fun to read, art is good enough, and the world and storytelling are good.

So far it's a good adaptation. It's not too rushed yet not too slow. The releases are quite frequent (2 a month) so you don't have to wait too long for the next update.
The art style is average. They aren't lazy with it but nor are they very detailed. Overall, it's good and understandable.
Let's hope this keeps up.
