Description

A beautiful and precarious love story unfolded by Hyeon-sook Lee of ! Read this after finishing the manhwa, if you can’t understand why Yoojung comes across as so pathetic and you’re from a culture outside the Sinosphere

Sunwoo is a genuinely kind and confident person. Upbringing plays a huge role in shaping who we become as adults. When all your needs are met, when money is never an issue, it’s easy to be decent person.

Notice how Sunwoo dropped out of medical school in his final year, only for his father to use his influence to buy his way back? As much as Sunwoo may dislike it, his parents are his safety net. No matter how badly he fails, he can always fall back into their arms.

Yoojung, on the other hand, has nothing, except his looks. It’s not his fault he was born into poverty, forced to struggle every day for basic survival. Just like in real life, poor people face more bad luck than the wealthy (think about it). Becoming an orphan and ending up without a proper education isn’t even that rare to see.

To Yoojung, Sunwoo is like the sun, radiant and utterly different from himself. It’s only natural that he feels inferior, and that insecurity will likely haunt him for the rest of his life. I genuinely feel sorry for Yoojung, and I can’t bring myself to blame him for all the shite he’s caused. Given the environment he grew up in, how could he have turned out any different?

As for why they don’t switch roles: Most us Asian readers treat BL manhwa/manga/manhua as fantasy/fetish material rather than realistic portrayals of gay relationships. Switching positions would break that fetish, it's just not our thing.

First , I wish for health and recovery for the author, she is my fav Korean author by faaar, she is amazing, all the best mam .

Second, Another interesting, unique and catching story from my fav Korean author.
There is something about her, no matter if u hate or love her work, u just can't stop reading, she is a traffic story teller with a way make u gripping to the story and don't let go.
I always can't wait for her new works, so wish her all health and happiness 🙏

I never read the author-nim's previous work he Beast Must die! and I had previously dropped this serious after reading a few chapters. I recently picked it back up because of the recent story development in Season 2.

I think this story has it's more bad than good, I will keep reading for the character development of Ki Yoojung. The positives about this series is the art and it's somewhat interesting premise.

**Baek Sunwoo and Ki Yoojung (includes parts that I don't like about the series): **

The story starts out like any other. The bottom character (Baek Sunwoo) reunites with the top character (Ki Yoojung) again in an unexpected and coincidental way. Top character is an asshole to the bottom character, both in the present and past. Top character is in denial of his feelings for the bottom character and thus treats him badly even though deep down he does has feelings for him. Drama happens in the middle and then at some point, they make-up and they become a couple.

I feel like the story could have been stretched more longer or would have beniffited from a small time skip, especially after the physical assault. It had too many character pause panels......another series that uses character pauses is Love Shuttle and The Words in Your Snare but those are very well used here it's just....staring and I'm like ok?
But I also think the author is trying to finish the story in two seasons. Part 1 focusing on them becoming a couple, part 2 during the couple stage.

Baek Sunwoo
Kind, forgiving to a certain degree and very loyal. I'm actually really suprised he was going to be the bottom!!! I really thought it was going to be Ki Yoojung.

The assault and attempted rape of Baek Sunwoo
It is amazing that not even months passed(?) but Baek Sunwoo still forgave Ki Yooujung so easily...The man, after you have been nothing but good to him and forgave you even after assaulting his friend, you forgive him when he is trying to find you and create a romantic relationship. Also! Ki Youjing as a character is so messed up. He attempted to sexually assault him by inserting his penis into him after assaulting him

It is clear that Ki Yoojung has anger problems in certain situations when he feels angered (the friend saying they look good as a couple, Baek Sunwoo saying that don't blame me for prostituting yourself to the restaurant owner) and is something that needs to be worked on, especially when the two characters had meant no malice in what they were saying to him. In the case of Baek Sunwoo especially it was after Ki Yooujing was verbally treating him terribly so he talked back but quickly said he is sorry and tried walking away from the situation but nope let me grab him and slam him a couple of times and then sexually assault him. I feel like this past incident will be brought up again in the future, making Ki Yooujing guilt at a certain point again. Maybe will make him think dang why is Baek Sunwoo still with me when I did that to him and i've always been an asshole with him both in highschool and during the restaurant days, like why is this awesome rich guy who treats me well and always forgives me still with me.

hope for a long story

It was a pity that "The Beast Must Die" ended so quickly, I really would have liked to hear more stories from the two of them.
I'm all the more excited about the new story.
I love the new story and the drawings anyway.
Yes, they also remind me of Kang Mo and Lee Kirin and that's the nice thing about it.
I hope that this story will also be very long and will also get a print edition. I would buy them immediately. LEE Hyeon-Sook stories have a slightly cool yet warm melancholic passionate vibe I just can't get enough of.

I can't believe that and I'm very shocked that LEE Hyeon-Sook has to withdraw due to health reasons (severely deformed wrists). 😰 I wish you a speedy recovery from here and hope that no surgery is necessary! 😭😊
But I think it's good that "I'll Be Here for You" has been finished and the spin-off will continue to be published as a book, I hope also in English 🤗

Familiar character design that makes me happy

Male leads look similar to Kang Mo and Lee Kirin, so I've kinda been imagining this manhwa as them reborn in an alternate universe with completely different plot and origin stories. The personalities of the male leads are similar too. Usually that wouldn't be a good thing, but I miss Mo and Kirin so much that I'm happy about the repetition.

Although, perhaps it's because I miss Mo and Kirin so much that I am choosing to see the characters in this webcomic as suitable surrogates.

Edit: He is nothing like Kang Mo, and he kinda sucks, in a pitiful way.
I can neither advocate for or against reading this story. I'm not sure yet what to think of it.

Edit 2: Kang Mo as a child is featured in Special Episode 3!!! Weeeoooweeeooooo
