Description

Thousands of years ago, Vampire King Akabara "Red Rose" Strauss lost both his kingdom and his queen. Since humans were unable to kill the queen, they sealed her away, erecting thousands of fake seals so that the king would never find her true location. Despite being pursued by relentless dhampires, Akabara continues to search for his queen to this day...

Akabara's quest takes a sinister turn when an entity called the Black Swan appears. The Black Swan inhabits the body of a young human girl every 50 years, giving her the power to destroy the Vampire King and his queen. With each incarnation the Black Swan grows stronger--will the 49th Black Swan mean the end of Akabara?

I absolutely adore this. As far-fetched as the plot seems to be getting I find myself easily accepting the developments. I love how what I thought was going to end up a sappy love story has turned into a complicated story of betrayal, revenge and politics. The characters are well thought out and even in just 17 chapters a lot of good development on them has occured. The mysteries yet to be revealed have me hooked and I love the Vampire King! The artwork is fantastic as well. Lots if good potential building.

UPDATE: A new scanlating group has just taken this manga up so new releases very quickly. YAY!

This is a really action-packed series. volume 1 comes out May 13th (but i got it 3 days early/today @ Barnes & Noble)
its one of the best series ive read (i havent read many, only about 5, most of which are still going, but, you know, its good) 😉 everyone should check it out!!

one of the most amazing manga that i'm reading now, although the scanlation is only 13 chapters(too bad). we can really expect many things from it, the storyline has a lot of twists, so you would end up doubting even yourself. LOL

A must read for Shounen fans

An amazing serie

This is one of the best manga i've ever read. I don't know if it's the intriguing story or the awesome artwork, but this really blew me away.
This manga is the reason i started to read Spiral (same author).

A 100% must read.

Don't expect any new releases soon though. It got licensed by Viz and TJO backed out like a scared... um... cat.

One of the best vampire manga i ever read i leike that kind of story and i cant wait for another volume
one of things that i like on these story is that king cast aside his kingdom and travel lonly through world nad mistery what is behind it - trealy complicated story , i like that

Of Kings and Vampires

This is an excellent drama series that revolves around the fallen vampire king, Akabara Rosered Strauss. The series isn't so much about the canon vampires of blood-drinking fame but more about the tension of racism, duty, and love. The art is stylish and the characters are very well drawn, each with their own unique set of emotions and experiences.

The most admirable character in the series by far is still Akabara Rosered Strauss. I can't spoil this series but I can only offer advice that people take note of the differences between what was represented in drawing and between what was said of those scenes.

It's also an incredibly depressing series to read exactly because the phrase "absolute justice" simply does not exist.

really have to read this manga. It's so~~~ nice, I believe this is one of the best manga I have ever read. The story is not simple, secrets behind secrets. Not lying, read yrself. ^ ^
