At 17 years old, I didn't know anything about life or love. And I didn't see my cousin as a man. I don't want to know anything, but love changed everything. (From Chibi Manga)
4 Volumes (Complete)

Am I crazy? Why is no one else pointing out how completely nonsensical this story is?
So her cousin is a yandere obsessive male lead who pretends to be an innocent, meek, helpless boy to get close to her. That actually sounds kind of interesting... right? Except at the start of the story she treats him with total neglect and contempt because he's so meek and whiny... and every time he shows his real personality she's like "ooooh, who's this sexy yandere guy? I love obsessive guys."
So why is he hiding his real personality? It makes no sense. His fake personality repels her and his real personality attracts her. This is never explained and renders the entire story pointless.
IF this really was the story of an obsessive macho guy getting close to a girl by pretending to be a meek intellectual... because that's what SHE liked... that would be an interesting story with dramatic potential. As is, what's the point?
Well if we ignore the fact that the ml loves the fl romantically even though she’s her cousin (cousins are technically blood related so this is incest there’s no way around it), there’s still so many things about this story that’s already problematic
the ml has been kissing the fl in her sleep for who knows how long. This is sexual harassment since fl didn’t consent to it so this isn’t romantic but creepy. I only read volume 1 but judging from thr comments it doesn’t seem like the forceful and pushy ways of the ml are going to change
and apparently they got together in the end and the guy really went with the marriage proposal move like how r their parents ok with this ?? ignore the fact they are young but they’re cousins ?????????
The lack of consent, romanticism of sexual harassment and over clicheness should be a good reason why I do not enjoy this
Believe it or not, the mild incest everyone is ranting about is actually the less creepy part of the story (and hey, if their families and classmates aren't bothered by it, why should we care...?).
Things start going downhill about ten pages in when we find out the "weak, good for nothing" main male character has actually been manipulating the hell out of his cousin since they were kids in order to isolate her from other guys. Not only that, but
he has been sexually harassing Ririka in her sleep for f*ck knows how many years and, now that the cat's out the bag, so to speak (for us at least; our heroine remains blissfully unaware of most of it for the remainder of the story), he's determined to not only let her know how HE feels but also get her to agree the obsession is mutual.
I've honestly lost count of how many times he forced on her if "only" to steal a kiss but, damn, why in the nine circles of shoujo hell do we keep getting asked to root for this lying liar who lies when there's a perfectly fine dude over there who actually gives a damn about consent (the bar is not that high, guys...) and seems like someone from whom Ririka would actually benefit from a relationship with? It's torture! For a second there, I actually entertained the idea the author was about to pull a
Paradise Kiss on us but, alas, no such luck.
The actual final chapter reads like a friggin' horror story
what with the main guy asking for a MARRIAGE CERTIFICATE for his birthday; she agreeing and deciding to add her virginity on top... thus starting a diet to look perfect for him and attracting the attention of other guys. Her cousin reaction? TO BLAME HER FOR "SEDUCING" THEIR CLASSMATES, TYING HER UP TO THE INFIRMARY BED AND GOING FOR THE RAPE- till Ririka reveals she did it all for him and was preparing for their special birthday celebration/Valentine's Day together that night. Eek!
YOU IN DANGER, GIRL
Cliche, cliche, cliche.....
If you only want to read:
Your typical male lead who is handsome, smart and great in sport
And your usual ditzy and dense in love and easily misunderstands female lead...
Then go right ahead....
The plot is not unique and there are many crappy and annoying rivals and side characters...
I only feel frustration when reading this...
So I decided to drop this manga midway...
Just wasn't worth the time and effort I spent trying to like it (at the beginning I thought her cousin was adopted and blood related since this was not categorized as incest).
The incest was just too strange/borderline creepy. For those who don't know and start screaming, "This is not incest", at me; well, in most North/Central/South American countries, marriage and relations with cousins is illegal and considered incest.
So I bid goodbye to another waste of my time.
I hate when the guy is so pushy. I get that he really likes riri-chan, but he has no control over his feelings! When she says stop, stop! It was like he was just forcing himself onto her and because of that (and other circumstances that forced them to be together), she developed feelings for him. Thats too forced!!!! I didn't like that at all. I love the art tho.
This is your typical shoujo cliche trope, like most of the shoujo genre. But this one.. You won't mind it because og the oh-so gorgeous smexy bishounens! And the hot scene, my gash~
He seems like a cute weak boy, but that's mostly a facade to get the girl. Damn, I like.
The plot itself (and heroine) is kind of cliched and nothing terribly original, but this kind of male love interest is quite rare, so I like it. There's also this crazy sexual tension coming off of the guy. (He wants her sooo bad, lol)
I don't think he's faking everything, but it's probably that he plays up his weakness. If you've ever read Yoru Made Matenai., you've got an idea of what I'm talking about, but less cocky. I actually agree that he's a bit "creepy" and oh-so possessive, but nothing too far off the shoujo spectrum.
