From Shoujo Manga Maniac:
The very modern tale of a girl named Yun, with a penchant for picking the wrong guys to fall for...and the bad boy, Hiromichi, who may just be good for her after all!
2 Volumes (Complete)

Did i read the same book as everyone else? i felt bad for the heroine since she fell in love with the hero of the story (spoiler) he is pretty much in love and sleeping with a married woman for a few years, and he eventually falls for the heroine and the married woman leaves the scene saying she "gives him up" even though she is married and pregnant with another mans baby. i dunno there was just something annoying about this story, i didn't like any of the characters. the creepiest scene has to be when the heroine is kissed by the married girl, it was kind of weird and i didnt quite get why she was kissing her, and groping her, it was just creepy to see an older ugly (in my opinion) woman feeling up a teen girl...
Personally, I really did enjoy it. It's not a literary masterpiece, but it's easy enough to read and enjoyable. The plot is, at best, incredibly predictable, but the same can be said for a lot of shoujo manga. The artwork is gorgeous, which is what attracted me to it in the first place. I know there is a lot of hoo-har about the plagerism case surrounding this mangaka, but please, don't let that sway your opinion; that has nothing to do with this story. It's nothing spectacular, but it's also not terrible. Just give it a go.
I'm a fan of Kayono's art. It's unique and pleasing to the eye. And yes, I know about the plagiarism case, but I'm rating this manga - not Kayono herself or her legal problems.
As for this manga... I thought it was cute. No, it's not deep or profound. Yes, the heroine is a bit empty-headed and definitely slept with a few too many guys for her young age... But some of the reviews here are exaggerating the situation. No, she doesn't just fall in love and move right in for no reason. She doesn't have a home to go back to and had just been kicked out of her ex-boyfriend's house, so she moves in because she has nowhere else to go. Also, the reviews about rampant sex are off, too. The male and female leads don't actually have sex through most of the story. Sexual tension and sexy little nuances are abundant, but actual sex doesn't happen at all until the end of the story. I also don't get why someone mentioned physical and mental abuse...? I don't remember anything about that in either volume. Did I miss something? 😛
At any rate, I enjoyed these two volumes well enough. This isn't a great manga, it's not going to change your life or make your day - but it also isn't horrible, either. So if you like the occasional trashy romance, go ahead and give it a try. If you're looking for some substance in your romance, you might want to look elsewhere.
And take most of the reviews with a grain of salt. It seems to be a common pastime to rip apart Kayono's works solely because of the plagiarism case against her. If you ask me, it's old news. Review the manga itself fairly, or don't review it at all.
It’s a (very) little better executed than most, but it’s really just the same old “girl falls in love with unattainable bad boy” shoujo story. Some possiblly interesting elements like the bad boy actually being pretty bad and the heroine's serious sexual problem don't go anywhere and there's some pretty strange and ineffective twists and a few too many cliches.
While it spends most its time as a dedicated romantic drama, it also gives time to a focus on make-up artistry. A lot of series use this kind of gimmicky and focus on an art, sport, or craft, and it can be made to work, but not when it gets so little time to unfold and suddenly takes over from straughtforward drama.
Really nothing but a dressed-up old dog.
It's nice, a typical work by Kayono..
The art is good, yet sometimes strange. but really cute.
The downside- how stupid can the heroin get?
he's kissing her, and hugging her, and yet she says she want's him to like her even though he doesn't.. and stuff like that
Well.. I've completed this.
The rating stays the same. Also the very nice and unique art, and the cute and nicely done story, it can't get a better vote..
It's cute. But silly.
So.. don't expect for too much~
Although it is very cliche in the smut genre for a dumb girl to fall in love with the most handsomest guy ever, I actually enjoyed this simply for the art and I've got to admit Hiromichi is very handsome, but a jerk nonetheless. I think this would have made a better story if Yun had instead gone out with Kyougo who really liked her... and have some character development for HIromichi. But then again smut stories rarely have plot twists.
I was gonna give this a 4 just b/c it was somewhat entertaining at certain points (although some those those points were quickly and promptly ignored within the following pages).
It follows the standard Kayono mold: Super cool, tough guy happens to be a softy underneath and seems like he's just using the heroine for ulterior motives. Also did I mention that despite the physical and mental abuse the delinquent/rebellious heroine will follow said guy around like a hungry stray cat.
sigh...Now I've read works by Shinjo and Minami and they follow the exact format almost exactly, yet Lovenista and Royal Seventeen make them look like Shakespeare or Edgar Allen Poe. The girl in this story is completely ruled by her hormones she's had nine previous boyfriends (ten if you include the guy she gave her virginity to) and I'm guessing she had sex w/ all of them since she says that was their main reason for breaking up. Did I also mention that she's only 16 yrs. old? I'm no prude but 10 guys before you're old enough to legally vote, drink, or smoke is overdoing it a little.
sigh... I don't wanna post spoilers so I'll stop before I get too carried away. The funny thing is the heroine is only a small part of the problem. The plot jumps around so much that by the time you get to far enough to know a little of what's really going on, you don't really care anymore.
The artwork is beautiful ^__^ The details in it just... suck you in.
The male lead is so... gah. XD <3 I really like him. @@;
It's not that great a story, but because the male lead is so fucking amazing, I'll give this a 10.

"To put it in perspective: Lovenista reads like a 12 year-old's first R-rated fanfic ("OMG read & review otherwise I won't write moooooore!"😉 Characterization? There is none. A coherent plot? Kayono does not know the meaning of this "plot" you speak of. Sexual situations which have an ounce of realism? Dialogue that isn't hopelessly corny? Decent pacing which features story developments that don't come out of nowhere? Nope, nope, and nope."
I just wanted to add to this and say: Child Grooming is treated like an "Elicit Affair with a married woman" and a "Love Rival" instead of treating her like the Criminal she is. ML was 13/14 when he met his DOCTOR (she should have been fired and stripped of her title and then thrown in jail) whom started a sexual relationship with her PATIENT who is a young teen with emotional issues, healing from a major car accident, that was still grieving his mother. She is a predator who literally groomed him to be her sex toy through manipulation and coercion. She used her position of power as a Doctor and as an Adult to take advantage of a vulnerable minor. This whole situation was toxic from beginning to end. Without her he would have eventually discovered his passion/goal in life and still met the FL who would have helped him through his emotional trauma and vice versa. That Predator had ZERO to do with his success, happiness and mental well-being. In fact she made his life WORSE.
Edit: I had a previous version of the above but it was accidentally deleted while I was still typing and lost everything. This is me trying to piece back together what i previosly wrote.
The story was so so but what made it worse were the characters. The art was unnecessarily glittery and pointy, a huge turn off. The female character can only be labelled as slut and the guy a man whore. 😐 Did anyone else notice that the female's face looked like a rodent? Just couldn't get it out of my head.
