I'm a fan of Kayono's art. It's unique and pleasing to the eye. And yes, I know about the plagiarism case, but I'm rating this manga - not Kayono herself or her legal problems.
As for this manga... I thought it was cute. No, it's not deep or profound. Yes, the heroine is a bit empty-headed and definitely slept with a few too many guys for her young age... But some of the reviews here are exaggerating the situation. No, she doesn't just fall in love and move right in for no reason. She doesn't have a home to go back to and had just been kicked out of her ex-boyfriend's house, so she moves in because she has nowhere else to go. Also, the reviews about rampant sex are off, too. The male and female leads don't actually have sex through most of the story. Sexual tension and sexy little nuances are abundant, but actual sex doesn't happen at all until the end of the story. I also don't get why someone mentioned physical and mental abuse...? I don't remember anything about that in either volume. Did I miss something? 😛
At any rate, I enjoyed these two volumes well enough. This isn't a great manga, it's not going to change your life or make your day - but it also isn't horrible, either. So if you like the occasional trashy romance, go ahead and give it a try. If you're looking for some substance in your romance, you might want to look elsewhere.
And take most of the reviews with a grain of salt. It seems to be a common pastime to rip apart Kayono's works solely because of the plagiarism case against her. If you ask me, it's old news. Review the manga itself fairly, or don't review it at all.
