Webtoon highlighted this daily pass series, but if it weren't for that, I would've never gotten into it. It's a short enough read, so I finished it, but was it worth it? Not really...
First off, I dislike the art. I never knew this was a GL because I thought the MC was a guy. She continued to look that way the entire time and it left a bad taste... This is a personal preference thing though, so don't mind me.
Really agree with katty's comment about the characters and storyline. LOL I don't even know what I read or what the point was. Awful development and progression. Nothing made sense.
It would've been nice if we got a little more insight into what the final play was about. I looked up The Maids by Jean Genet for my own reference.
It's a play about two maids who fantasize and roleplay about killing their Madame. Claire, the youngest/weakest, plays the Madame, while Solange, the eldest/most resentful (she actually did try to kill the Madame before), plays Claire. Eventually they go little crazy and actually do try to kill the Madame by poisoning her tea. But the Madame rushes out before drinking the tea, so the crazy maids now need to finish their roleplay fantasy -- Claire (playing the Madame) makes Solange (playing Claire) give her the poisoned tea.
NOW, if only this was explained, it would've helped with the story, if even a little. At least we can understand how the author made the connection between this play and the story -- like why did Minkyeong throw out the tea at the end? (Was that what really happened?? Lol idk) -- but NO, zero explanation. What a waste.
Maybe the author wanted to keep this short and "mysterious", but it proved to be a bad idea. To echo: terrible execution.
