Never have I ever found a main female character in a shoujo manga that is a crybaby and is weak yet is adorable and completely likable. Hiyorin is certainly the case.
The plot of this manga isn't mind-blowing, in fact, it is definitely cliche. But it's the characters that keep me going. (And the author doesn't use cliches in a vomit-inducing sort of way, thankfully - mostly this is because the character is so likable!)
I like how even though Hiyorin is a crybaby and weak, it's not used pathetically as a trait just to de-Mary Sue her. It's used as a flaw in this story - she wants to overcome this; she doesn't try to run away from her problems, like a previous reviewer mentioned.
I love how the artist has the ability to create heart-warming (yes, I know, cliche xD) scenes...the art is lovely, not the best, but very cute and shoujo-like...and the reader is able to feel what Hiyorin is feeling, in terms of romance. I like that. And it's not vomit-inducing at all.
Also, I like how Hiyorin accepts the fact that she likes Hirose, it's not that whole "girl-is-too-dense-to-realize-that-she's-in-love" thing. And I like that Hiyorin likes Hirose for his personality, not his looks.
Hirose is really adorable. He's decent looking, but that's not the main point. It's is personality that brings him out - he's outgoing and friendly, especially to Hiyorin, which is probably why she's attracted to him in the first place. I love how in here, friendship comes before romance (although she was rather quick to admit she likes him).
Anyway, I recommend this to readers who enjoy fluffy, adorable romance and a lovable female character. Not for shoujo fans into smut and tsusendre girls (unless you like all types, like me 😀 ).
