This webtoon is divided into 2 parts and sadly even the quality is divided into 2 just as that

Part 1

Team Work
Great Characters
Great Games
Mystifying Tower and it's secret
....Overall PERFECT! 10/10

Part 2

Great Beginning, Dark baam was good reveal at first
Workshop arc it stars "the Slow Death" of this webtoon
Redundant and too many lame characters, now it's hard to keep track of anybody...
Games does not have that same shine that Part 1 have infact it feels Boring and draggy
Lame twists and manipulation, doesn't have that "Wow WTF" Factor of part 1
MC doesn't have any Goal except Chasing Rachel (aka sasuke)

I have to say part 2 has made me completely despise this webtoon and hence the low score

The rating doesn't lie, this is one of if not the best comic currently around (up there with Historie, Kingdom, and FMP Sigma)

I just started it yesterday and in one day finished to the current 170th chapter

What people said about world building is true, it's as detailed as Mahouka Koukou no Rettousei but in a far greater scale

This comic resembles Baccano with it's seemingly multiple protagonists and spanning over few years, without constrains like highschool and the like

The characters, there are a lot, i mean A LOT, maybe about a hundred recurring characters? But each and everyone of them has depth not like that crap Kyoukai Senjou no Horizon which you don't care anyone in it

You must read this epic thing

Btw, Koreans truly love their MMORPG

Lovely world building

I for one have really grown to the characters. It's not a masterpiece, but it's quality is rising. And I can't help but want to support the author that keeps continuing the story while his own health is declining. That really takes some dedication.

The beginning of this story was a little weak, including the art, but considering the length of the story, that soon becomes a far-off memory as the art gets much better, more complex character appear, the plot gets interesting. One thing I really enjoy are those separate blog notes and side stories on the characters that climbed the tower before our current cast and explain the world well. It's definitely a nice touch that gets me much more interested. The world building here is really awesome and all this background information just improves it.

It's hard to comment much without spoiling the story, but I think the series keeps improving as it goes and while the character count is quite wide, they all seem to be managed fairly well without really taking the shine off the others. I appreciate that the author is also trying out new ways to act out the story and keeps trying to improve. It definitely is nice. The fights aren't really drawn out, but I can't decide if that is a plus or minus. It makes it definitely less shounen-typical and it allows the story to advance faster without getting stuck in a single fight for months. So for me..it probably is a plus.
I just wish there wasn't so much suffering ;;__;;

Also, I can only disagree with the comment below mine. I feel like judging a series this long on the first few chapters is nothing but short-sighted even if many of those points are valid. It reminds me of the people reviewing anime after 1 ep acting like they know everything about it. So for those who haven't read this yet - the beginning might be a little weak, but it keeps getting better.

This manhwa totaly suprised, more I readed more I wanted read. This manhwa totaly got potential grow amazing, and Im totally gonna follow it! truly recommend to everyone try out. This artist truly got shining future ahead if he keeps working and developing in future!

PS. even others comments that there is too many side charachters, I felt it made story alot richer when all story lines started go together. But critisim is always good, so future readers knows whats coming when reading this.

Seriously,I never thought I would want to give a manhwa 10...my rule is always never rate anything perfect score. 9.8 is the highest score I would give.

Review:
It started off slow in the beginning,but that's only the foundation. The story grows and becomes much more deeper as you read further. There is so many character progression and story, I am also amazed at how much strategy and mind play, I can see how much the author put work into the plot and such, amaze me with the progress of the story. Oh,I always love creative strategy and character progression. There is also numbers of character and many of them are made with distinct diversity.

you should read it and see if it's overrated or not. For me, it really touch the spot.
have many what I love in a story and executing it brilliantly.

It reminds me of a more mature Hunter X Hunter too... kind of.
And despite what many say I think it's interesting from page 1 on!

And whoever says "the art is plain bad"...needs their eyes washed with soap <3

The similarites to HxH I found in the first few chapters are the following ones:

- male lead naive to the world, latent abilites => Gon

team mate, cold, calculating, dangerous family => Killua

Tests as a form of finding the worthy, teamwork

strange/creative beings and creatures

When I started reading it I was not very pleased - it showers you with a lot of characters and those characters tend to take new superpowers out of their pockets whenever necessary, all they do is fight or throw some jokes plus the art is plain bad.
But it got better. Really better, so now that I finished 47th chapter i can't wait for more. Physical tests are replaced by mind-games and stategical battles, teams of players are formed and disbanded, lies and betrayals (not really a spoiler considering amount of characters), plans inside plans etc. It's actually interesting to read to see what will happen next.

One person said it's a bit cliche, but I don't agree. What makes this kid special isn't his "innate power" it's that as an irregular, he is destined to move events, he's really a special kid, and the rest of the characters are pretty interesting as well, each with their own faults and feelings. What really puzzles me though, is whether the blue-haired one is a guy or a girl, cause with Japan these days... you never know, even if they tell it's a guy, you can never be sure there isn't a plot twist somewhere down the road that'll prove differently. Especially with Ch.23, what with the way that ponytail looks and all, I'm not too sure...

This was just amazing at first. Really top notch. The art was not so polished, but the character design was brilliant. The plot was clever and gripping. But lately - it’s just sort of flabby and directionless. New character after new character after new character introduced, and while they are drawn better, a lot of them look (sorry) unbelievably stupid. The characters you cared about get no screen time. They just bring in new ones and do nothing with them.

It’s like listening to a five year old tell a story: “and then the princess met a unicorn. And then she met another unicorn that was pink. And a mermaid. The mermaid had blue hair. And then they went to the castle. And they met a dragon. A red dragon. And a robot….”

And the world of the story also used to be defined by rules - that was the whole point. It didn’t follow the physics of our world, but it had space and time and hard and fast rules about what characters could and could not do. So it mattered if those rules were broken. Now it’s a world where magic can do anything and everything all of the time or maybe sometimes - so who cares? People can float. They can teleport. There are parallel worlds and pocket universes - it’s all just whatever it is today. So there are no stakes.

Update: H56 actually nailed it. This IS One Piece on ketamine. In a bad way. I used to love One Piece, and in the latest arcs, I have not had a CLUE what’s happening. There are literally 100s of new characters. Unless you are an obsessed fan with ten hours a week to spare editing the wiki and making flash cards to study, you only care about a few main character arcs. But with both One Piece and ToG lately, it’s like you need a goddamn PhD in whatever webtoon to keep up. You know what that says to me? The author doesn’t know what to do with his main character anymore. He doesn’t know how to finish the story. He’s run dry on the endless cycle of MC power ups. So he’s just adding new characters and new characters and new characters and new characters. It’s the problem with so much manga. When the story is over, flush and wipe and be on your way. Don’t spam fifteen dozen new side characters and hope one of them is interesting. You know why I loved Shin Angyō Onshi so much? The author had the balls to do an amazing ending. As opposed to so many others where it just gets stupider for decades until you give up.

Just like everyone said, season 1 is verygood even tho the art are bad, but keep reading it, there’s shocking and interesting plot twist

I see everyone said season 2 is boring, perhaps it’s from hell train arc and after baam changed from viole into baam again, BUT JUST KEEP READING, SIU plot style is long story type, it builds story per chapter and it’s quite long, i won’t say it’s slow, but it’s definetly long, when you reading week per week, you may get tired lol, but I reread it again after season 2 completed, and omg it’s mind blowing how detail SIU world building is.

Currently in season 3 and I stopped again because I realize tog is the type of manhwa which we can enjoy with a bunch of chapter instead of once per week type.
And character changing in season 3 really good, baam from season 1 until now, the character development is slow but it’s there.

For side character, yes there is so manyyyyy side character, some are awesome, some are good, some are just unimportant haha
But SIU once said, tog is not a story about baam, tog is story about the tower itself, it’s just our main character is gained so much attention in there.
