This was very good up until the ML found her again. It was WAY too early. And of course, we can't have a female lead achieve success without the ML organizing things in the background, no sir! Not in my Korean manwha! Not to mention how much of a stalker he's being and how no one, throughout many years, noticed a gang of shady people staking out a certain place. Like, what? No. Also how bad the second ML is. He's by far the better choice as an ML, but somehow doesn't do anything throughout 4 years of living together? Why?

Lastly, I see people calling the FL a bitch early on. This is a fair assessment, but also a good portrayal of what someone would feel in that situation. She didn't see her sister as the person she is, only what her appearance meant to her parents and herself. She does come to see her as a person, but choses not to abandon her plan.

Leave it to Korean authors to ruin the good stuff!

There has to be something wrong with someone's head when they enjoys a show about taking revenge on an innocent person just because she was part of the situation. I enjoyed so many revenge stories, but revenge stories that target an innocent person are not my style.

The author has written some characters that express some rather believable emotions. It might not be a series for everyone or have an enjoyable plot for all but just the interactions of the mc and her immediate circle of people all seems to be well grounded. i’ve yet to find more than a handful of interactions that caused me to say “that’s not how a human behaves”

Writing this as of chapter 35 , here’s hoping that it continues to be ok
On a side note speaking from experience, if you do find yourself relating with the character, try counselling! It’s worth it!

Just remembering the plot and ending is frustrating, sad, and disappointing. As the reader, you see it from multiple perspectives and it is sad because I empathize with the sisters. But it is frustrating because it doesn’t feel like a satisfying revenge plot. Both emotions result in a disappointing series that doesn’t really give me a reason to read it.

I agree that it's the "I'll run away and you'll be sorry" story, but yep, they are.

The sister is an unfortunate collateral damage, but since the FL was always compared to her "so perfect sister if she was here", it's understandable that she doesn't hold any affection for her, especially since sister is simply her mother's daughter in the FL eyes.

ML seems nice, even though a bit crazy, but it was too late for her.

FL needs to see a therapist. She sees everyone near her as happier than they ought to be and is jealous and angry over that fact. She goes out of her way to plot the downfalls of naive bystanders (eg half-sister, prince, etc) as well as conniving competitors (eg half-sister's mother, father, etc). For this reason, it makes it hard to get behind her plans as an audience when she spends time villifying bystanders who just happen to be part of the situation. And, since the story spends a little over 20 chapters within this theme, is it really worth your time reading....

The story theme changes slightly when she finally leaves her absusive situation, but do you want to read a story about a hide-n-go-seek search between an abused FL with a vindicative personality & everyone in high society that she willfully decided to leave. If so, this might be your story. If not, you have an understanding that nobody has an obligation to entertain the abusers of their past if they dont want to.

The review below me is quite right that the trope about the heroine being that villain in the otome game. You really will feel your dislike for her in the first few chapters. However, as you read further and the story reveals more of everyone's back story, you will know that the manhwa is turning the genre's tropes in on their head. And it has done a very good take at writing different shades of grey instead of a more black & white approach.

I haven't read much of this genre, but I'd make a comparison to "Villains Are Destined to Die", in that this title is a more realistic approach to a composed, but abused FL who is trying to free herself from her situation (which makes sense since she isn't isekai'd to a sadistic game). And I really do love that she is freeing herself from her situation not through the men in her life, but with her own capabilities.

Really excited to see where the story is going and I do hope the ML will turn out all right (he is great ATM) since I don't like the implications of a certain flashback and him looking like a perfect fit for a villain doesn't help.
