As of time of review, read till chapter 13, i physically couldnt continue any longer.
I would give this a zero if i could.
So anyways now onto the story contents,
The good:
... idk, the art looks good on a surface level, some of the characters look decent when taken out of context. Even for a manhwa the art is pretty above average.
The okay.
The action scenes, till now the only part of the story that has any meaning at all, are decently drawn. On the surface.
Fights lack any kind of weight behind them. There is no momentum nor is there reason or logic to what happens even in fights, which is might i remind you, the only thing this story has going for it.
You do not know the character's power level nor does a power level even exist or explained or probably will ever be explained. Nor are you even told which is more likely to win, You don't know their powers either, not that its possible to counter their powers in the first place. All victories are by brute force or by arbitrary story points made up on the spot and promptly forgotten.
The bad:
So this really is the core of the manhwa/webtoon. This thing is lightning paced. Things happen cause they just happen. There is little rhyme nor reason to it, much less build-up. The story pretends and wants you to think certain characters are cool except doesn't explain anything about them that would make you think they are cool.
The only kind of context you can have is about knowing korean myths in depth. But then again even the story itself says that myths and the mythical creatures in them are not accurate in the story itself and thus that connection is meaningless too.
Speaking of, the characters are just bad. Other characters aside who arent even one dimensional but rather a dotted line heading towards nowhere, the protagonist/ MC himself is a weakling. But not the 'good' kind of weakling, the one you usually find in stories that has a strong set of values or motivation and willingness to improve himself to achieve his goals.
Nope, he's just some random weakling who got caught up in this whole 'ordeal' for no reason, his (one and only) friend killed right in front of him but instead of it giving him motivation to do something, anything, instead he just wallows in self pity and then immediately stops caring. I swear literally 1 chapter later he forgets all about her, this girl character that's literally his only friend in school and he's the direct cause of her death but instead he forgets about her and post that whenever he recalls that incident he's like, "why are they all after me?" It doesn't even lead him to change anything, presumably this idiot heads to school like normal the very next day.
Instead its his 'tiger' 'companion' that insists he needs to meet the MC's mother, that has been dead for who knows how long, and the MC has no memories of his childhood. Another cliche randomly thrown in without having any weight behind it. There isn't even any character development at all.
There's also random attempts at making jokes that just fall flat because they hardly fit with what happened just before it. For example one of the jokes is how his tiger companion thingy (oh that reminds me, apparently the tiger was sealed in this random jade necklace but post that this jade necklace hardly has any connection to the tiger?, i mean the tiger can roam around freely, not limited by some distance from the necklace but then everyone continues going after this random kid instead of the tiger which is their actual target)
anyways theres a scene where this tiger transformed into human competes with a cat with cat food on the line saying 'but its delicious', and the joke is just as it sounds.
anyways, i would rather not torture myself by reading this piece of trash and neither do i recommend you to.
Its not bad in the sense it becomes enjoyable in watching a trainwreck.
Its just bad, like a landfill and garbage dump you would just rather stay away from. There is no redeeming quality here.
