instead what we got was an open ended last chapter. We dunno if FL and ML really are gonna end up together. What we thought was gonna be a gift of appreciation the ML would give to FL in the last panels turned out to be to another flatmate. And the FL, who did so MUCH to help the ML get over his phobias (?) vampire problems (?) for squat from him. Just radio silence and complete cutoff of all comms and she didn’t even know that he was still alive. He basically cut her out of his life for no good reason that was ever explained and just when we thought he would make up with her thru a gift the creator spoils it and tells us the gift was for someone else (ugh, seriously screw this ending). And we never get confirmation if the vampire thing was true or not, we also don’t know if any of the stuff actually happened or if it’s all one big dream from an old minor character who has dementia. This ending was unsatisfying in so many ways, even though admittedly it fits the tone that the last parts of the story had (it was obviously the author was going thru some really tough stuff when they wrote this, even said so themselves, which explains why this turned from a light comedy into a stressful mystery)
