Description
Private detective Reiji Akiba has a theory about those awkward moments and weird coincidences we all encounter in life. They are actually encounters with the dead; their way of sending us a message. But you may not want to open such strange mail from beyond - not unless you can see the ghostly attachment, like Akiba can. And not unless you carry a gun that can kill what isn't alive, like Akiba's aptly named Kagutsuchi, "the tool between God and earth"... digging a divine grave to lay to rest the evil dead.

So-so episodic creepiness

There's definitely some spooky imagery to be found in this manga, which for some people is the whole point. However, its episodic nature, and the extreme brevity of those episodes, really hamstrings it, in my opinion. There's almost no time given for character development or exploring the individual stories in much depth. The situation is set up and then promptly resolved by the walking deus-ex-machina protagonist literally just turning up and shooting it. It's pretty shallow, as a result. Still, some of the imagery that it dredges up is a bit creepy, though not consistently so. I think series like Fuan no Tane handle this routine better. If all you want is creepy imagery or situations, why not pare it down to just that? There's no need for a vestigial framework like this.

There aren't many mangas labeled as horror that are really scary. Well, this one is definitely one of them. I was freaked out right from the beggining, but at the same time I was so hooked on it that I couldn´t stop reading. If you wan´t to read a really good horror manga read it! I recommend it!

That would be the word to best describe this manga.
I was pleasantly surprised at how scary and suspenseful it could be and with several of the stories.
This is a mangaka that can truly draw and write and you don't see many of them hanging around.
Overall i highly recommend it!

I was freaked out on the first chapter for I was really absorbed reading it (must be because I was reading it late at night with lights and doors shut). The gooeyness of the art helps. After that, it won't scare you just as much as it will surprise or startle you. The scare tactics of this series is reminiscent of The Ring and The Grudge. Where someone comes out of some inanimate object and where someone clings from the wall coming to get you. The horror's been used before but nonetheless startling. I don't plan to read it at night ever again.

the manga is very interesting. i read the licensed version of this at some book store. read one chapter and had to leave. but great thing manga-sketchbook picked it up. the series is good but it wont suck you in. but it keeps you going. and even though is a horror, its not that scary. or not even a single anime/manga in my life has scared me once. but its all in opinion
