In the small Tokyo bedroom community of Fujimi-cho, a young violinist named Yuuki Morimura is the concertmaster of an amateur ensemble called the Fujimi Symphony Orchestra, which is made up of musicians who aren't necessarily the best players, but have a lot of passion for music. One evening a new conductor is introduced, a young 'genius' named Kei Tounoin. Unbeknownst to Yuuki, Kei had heard him playing violin and fell in love with him and his sound instantly, and joined Fujimi to get closer to him -- with the intent of asking him out. At the same time, Yuuki is in love with the principal flutist of the orchestra, Natsuko Kawashima -- who promptly falls for Kei the minute he joins, beginning a complicated romantic love triangle.
Though the series focuses on Kei and Yuuki's relationship and their respective careers as they climb the ranks of the classical music world, several of the side characters and their interactions with the main couple are explored as well.
Fujimi Orchestra is the longest-running BL novel in Ruby Bunko's catalogue, with over 4 million books in print.
