Although it started with rape ,but at least there were 3 factors that made the rape part acceptable here rather than in other manga, first it was a misunderstanding ,secondly the seme reflect on it and showed his true feeling that was behind the rape and explained how it lead to this situation, third the straight (later uke) reaction from the rape (finally in yaoi manga) was as it should be with the mind break and other sense, and didn't subdued fast or in same moment
The 2 couples were good, this manga is balanced and have light soft emotion to it,read it 5 times from time to time and still in my favorite list never gone get bored from it

As far as the manga is concerned, it really sucks you in and then leaves you with an unfinished feeling. The manga is based off of a series of novels, and instead of trying to make a manga that tells the complete story, or even just a complete arc, for some reason it was decided to shorten the story and skip certain parts. I would not recommend this if you have not or will not read the books (which unfortunately are not in english). As someone else mentioned, this manga was probably meant for people who were already fans of the books.

Overall, this was a very nice read. The whole situation between Yuuki and Kei is extremely unreal.
But the whole point of this story is - imo - to be an unrealistic roller coaster ride for squealing yaoi fan girls, and well.. The story does it's job well. If you just look away from the unreal aspects, this is a really enjoyable read. Refreshing, with nice art and a fairly original plot.
But somehow, the story jumps quite drastically in time between the chapters. I often had to double-check if I missed a chapter or two, because the plot was suddenly somewhere else. But that's apparently just the choice of the mangaka. But it didn't stop me from reading on.
Worth a read.

When I remember that Kei just raped Yuuki, I can't help but think that Yuuki's reaction toward the whole situation is ..wrong..just wrong.

Can't wait to read the novel... This is one of my favorites, and will continue to be greatly loved by me!!! It is slow in parts, but well worth it, the angst is great!! I highly recommend it!!!!!!

Fujimi Orchestra is a BL novel, and is very well-known in the BL world. It became an OVA, and even a oneshot manga. Unfortunately though, I truly love to see more of their love story in moving pages.

I know Fujimi is from anime. It's sad story whereas its one sided love. However when i get the manga, i'm enthusiastic to read it wonder is it really sad story. Fortunately the ending was good which is not longer as one sided love.

I've read that there are 16 novels and 3 character books of Fujimi Block No. 2 Symphony Orchestra (富士見二丁目交響楽 団), written by Akizuki Koh. Only the first and fourth books were used for this manga. That makes sense with the extremely abbreviated happenings that the mangaka was trying to squeeze into this volume through text. When I read the 'incident with Yasaka,' in 'Do You Like the Concert vol.1 (chapter 4) of vol 1 of the manga) I was tipped off that I was missing something. That lead me to research more about this story (because I really love the character developement and relationships that challenge my understandings of human nature!)
SO, I only rated it a 7 because it is a piece of the puzzle. It needs the rest of the pieces to be complete, I believe.

This was the first yaoi manga I EVER read, so I'm completely bias. It has a special place in my heart because of it. Looking back, its actually not that great of a story, but it introduced me to the BL world! ^_^. Worth one read, but not a re-read.
not bad, but...

it's hard for me to separate my feelings for the series overall (love it) from my feelings for the manga. i basically don't think the manga does the story justice overall. in specific, it doesn't show just why yuki ends up loving tounoin despite their very rocky start -- the actual novel series is as realistic as one can be about ye olde rapee falling for rapist angle, while the manga glosses over it just like most yaoi. so i don't know. i feel *meh* about the manga, and wonder whether anyone reading it would feel inclined to check out the novels (were they to speak japanese). it seems to me more of a gift to people who're already fans. the art is pleasing, and what there is of the novels is well depicted.
