it is a great drama, romance and comedy combination. really great but i cannot handle anymore 🙁 after chapter 95, I cried a lot so I've decided to wait until the last volume comes out. I keep telling myself no no it is not real you shouldn't cry but it doesn't work sob sob... I'm sure it will be a happy ending! right? and please end it already. poor poor shin ramen!

Goong was the first manhwa that I've started reading, and it made me fall in love with the Korean comic industry. I think Goong mixes a show of great images, really detailed and beautyfull, a story with great plotline of royal intrigue and a very unique humour that balances a sad romance between a prince and a princess bounded by a marriage they both had a hard time getting used to.
You can see clearly the authour's hard work, both in exploring the late korean traditions and in creating the characters. Which, by the way, show reactions of real people in a tough situation, and they don't act all dreamy over nothing, nor they change over night. It's all well developed in a good process, and you can go along with it without even noticing, feeling with the series revolt and hapyness through the characters decisions and actions all the time.
I really recommend it for the ones that like dense plots to background a touching love story. 'Cause you'll feel touched like I did.

*really emotional after getting to see the scenes in volume 16, I decided it was about time to make a reference here. Read it!!!

As most of the people commented already said. Goong is a spetacular manga, especially for people that like think plotlines and much detail. However, I was slightly disappointed in the main female character as she is quite indecisive and impulsive. Her lack of understanding created many misconceptions. But again, I have to give the author credit for creating such a amusing character. The artwork is very breathtaking, and without much notice you'll find yourself at the last chapter scanlated- anxious for more. Good luck with the read.

At first I liked it. I read up to 15 volumes of it before I decided it was time to throw my desktop out the window. Honestly, the author should've ended the tale many volumes ago, in fact it's a complete eye sore that it's still "Ongoing". Everything about this is STUPID and not worth the migraines.

First of all, Chae-Gyung is like a dog. All she does is whine and cry... and whine and cry. Why do all the male leads like her anyways? She's a retarded mutt. Every page that she is on, makes my head hurt cause she seems to always be screaming, and she's unforgivingly obnoxious. Uh was she suppose to be a strong female lead? Because clearly she wasn't, she was an annoying waste of space. I think she's bipolar, undiagnosed of course. I think she also lacks a brain and common sense cause if she had one, Goong would've ended volumes ago. One thing I hate about manhwa is the fact that it's all based on a simple misunderstanding.

Then there's Shin... the biggest dick on the planet. Not only that but much like the heroine, he also lacks a brain and common sense. He must be the most complicated metro boy I've ever read about. He's like a woman; he simply PMS' and goes through episodic mood swings. Is there anything impressive about him? He's an arrogant, rude and selfish little ... prick. All he is to Chae-Gyung is a dick.

Yul is a whiny little homewrecker. I thought only girls played such dirty mind games but apparently males do too.. especially this one. Apparently he does not understand the notion of "No". Do guys force their feelings on you? Cause if they did, I would've called it an emotional rape. This boy is a female bitch in a male's body. Do girls find persistance adorable? Cos from my point of view Yul, looks like a pathetic whiny little bitch. Maybe if he grew some balls, I'll like him just a fraction more. Not only that, maybe he needs a punch in the face... cause nothing instills more confidence and common sense than a punch in the face. He's whining about how much his life sucks, when he's solely the reason why it sucks.

I don't see the couple's relationship going anywhere because from what I've read, they lack the fundamental qualities needed to maintain a healthy relationship. So I have to admit that this is unrealistic and frustrating. If the couple actually trusted each other and communicated, many of the pending events WOULD NOT have happened.

This whole manhwa was a soap opera, in fact I believe that' it's worst. Misunderstanding after misunderstanding after another. Their happiness only short-lived, because somewhere along the line, something trivial will mess it up. Shin & Chae-Gyung clearly don't know how to talk to each other, so I don't see this story going anywhere besides another frustrating loop.

I don't recommend this to anybody, please save yourself the migraine and stray far away from this.

Thats true. In the beginning it was hard to read and i didnt feel like reading on, but .. then it got so interesting!!
Gahhhh!! Its like.. u cant take your eyes off of it and u MUST continue 😀
for 2 hrs. straight i read all 98 chapters XD

its certainly addictive! once i got over the first volume or so, i was totally caught up in the whirlwind of this story. the unpredictability, the angst, the anticipation just made me unable to put it down. the drawbacks though, would be the constant, annoying misunderstandings the 2 characters get themselves into time and again. i just wish that stupid yul and that bitch whatshername disappear!!!! aiueeeeeee....and also, the artist, beautiful though her artwork is, seems unable to make the transition between serious expressions and comical ones. instead she uses those 'ugly' (i don't think they're ugly, they're just another sort of comic artform) faces to replace other expressions (angry, happy, perverse, excited), which i think subtracts the characters from their emotions, and makes me doubt her ability to draw faces other than serious ones. other than that, great piece of work.

I don't really feel like typing too much now, so... all I have to say is that this manga is really, really addicting and to enjoy it, YOU MUST GET PAST THE FIRST VOLUME. ^-^ That was just something to tell all those people that stopped in the middle of or after the first volume. It was also a note to those planning to read Goong sometime soon. The plot's really, really, really good.

Almost every chapter their's a damned cliff hanger. I'm dying. I think I need to put this manga aside until it's completely scanned. lol. But I can't. It gets a little repetitive, but not too repetitive. I think it's getting close to its end. Best manwha EVER.

I love this manga. Its plot is amazingly well thought-out. The art is spectacular(gets better as series goes on. Although I can't say I like the faces drawn for humour) I have honestly never seen a manga with such dynamic characters. The thought that goes into the writing is astounding. I've never had my emotions drawn-out so as I have while reading the later chapters(manga-wise, it's a new way of thinking.)

It started off somewhat stereotypically. Stupid girl gets made a princess sort of deal, but then the whole manga delves off into unexplored places. The politics introduced in the later chapters are incredebly interesting to follow. (Its still mixed with a bit of comedy but soon becomes quite serious).

The manga isn't about giving the readers what they want, it's about telling a story, which seems to put some people off. People look for the perfect, stereotypical story they are used too, but this branches off.

The biggest problem for me was the crappy art at the start (Author got realllllly carried away with trying to be funny, just turned out bad) But it soon changed, so don't worry.
Something new; A great read 😀

This manhwa is amazing, the art is beautiful and the characters are unique! I also love the fact that the two main characters didn't fall in love with eachother immediately. Instead it took time (alot of it) for their relationship to at least become less bitter. I'll leave it at that, I don't want to spoil anything. Anyways definately a great story if you want something that you'll remember for a long time. <3
