Oh, Goong. Goong used to be such a great manhwa until volume 6 or so. Then the author killed it.
The beginning showed a lot of potential and it was nice to see a poor girl getting married to the Prince. The whole arranged marriage theme wasn't original but the author did a great job on mixing historical elements in a modern setting.
Of course, some things were just unbelievable. The main heroine Chae-Gyung comes from a poor family. Her grandfather was friends with the King, how is that possible? It's not that easy for a commoner to know a royal so easily. But ok, let's pass that.
Shin, who is the Prince is just an idiot. Shouldn't he show respect towards Chae-Gyung? What he was only doing was to humiliate her such as,
cleaning his hands after Chae-Gyung touched him or throwing her from the balcony into the pool.
Talking about no manners at all. And even if later he becomes somewhat better, I can't get to like him.
Chae-Gyung ain't that great either. She is a boring fangirl who endures that kind of humiliation and she does not mind that much. Just cause of Shin's looks.
And after reading 100+ chapters, my head hurts as well. Can't believe the characters are under such ridiculous drama. And there is TOO much dragging.
The author turned the self-centered Shin into a clingy Shin towards Chae-Gyung and he wants to be with her and blah, blah. His cousin and her mother are the 'bad guys' and Chae-Gyung is all thinking and crying.
There is just cliche drama, nothing else. Goong is just like an endless soap-opera. And I don't see it ending soon since it's so popular. I suppose the author will continue it for 30+ volumes.
It would be great if the author ended Goong and started another work because she has a nice style.
