Description
The Sun Knight is a man who has shining golden hair, sky blue eyes, a compassionate nature, and a brilliant smile. He is the spokesperson for the God of Light, the captain of the Twelve Holy Knights, and (some say) the man closest to perfection. Beneath the veneer of the Sun Knight, however, lies a very different sort of character...

Note: PR!'s translation also includes several short stories about the characters as well as an extra volume called "Unbeatable" about how Neo and Aldrizzt met.

looks very promising

as the title says, this series looks very promising. it starts of with a prologue that explains about the religions of the world this story is set in, and I was pretty much having a belly ache by the time I stopped laughing about the last few lines.

The first chapter too, though quite obviously an introduction, was interesting, I really can't wait to see where this is going.

The reason I have rated this an 8 now is because I think it is impossible to say more when I have only read the prologue and first chapter. if the story continues like this or gets better it will definitely earn a 10 ^^

I love this series

I really enjoy this series, I love it. From my wanting to read it, i even forced myself to learn chinese (I originally only knew how to speak chinese), had relatives buy the series (and other works done by the author) in china and bring it to the US, and read it three times

I had first seen the manga for this series, because since I found it really interesting, I did some research and learned it was adapted from a chinese novel. I searched for translations and read them, but the translations weren't enough, so i found chinese raws and slowly, bit by bit, using google translate to read out phrases, to finish the series, and now am also able to read chinese, and i began reading all of the other novels by this author (no kill, 1/2 prince, GOD, eclipse hunter, no hero, and anything else i can find).

I would definitely recommend this series, the author combined so many aspects like humor and plot together so well, sometimes it had me laughing till the point my sister came to my room and told me to shut up, and other times i was jumping up and down in my chair, It made me want to read more...enough to learn to read in a new language, i had even skipped an entire nights of sleep reading it.

The Legend of the Sun Knight is the first translated Chinese novel I've ever read. I admit, although I am a Chinese, I can barely read and write the language since I was forced to stop learning it after transferring to a school that didn't teach it at the age of nine. Conversing is just the most I can do so yes, I've never gotten the chance to read Chinese novels...until I found the blog of Lealynn with all those translated chapters of The Legend of the Sun Knight that my friend's boyfriend had been reading.

LSK is one of the best stories I've ever read and trust me, I've read hundreds (novels, light novels, mangas) since I'm a bookworm.

To cut things short, I love this novel. I even bought the book up till book four that has been recently released in my country although, like I said, I cant read Chinese. So for those who've not read this series yet, do take some time off and read it! You'll get hooked and will be laughing a lot as you join Sun in his journey! biggrin

I'll keep it short and simple,
this is the kind of novel that makes you want to strangle your friends while screaming "YOU HAVE GOT TO READ THIS!, IT'S SO FUNNY AND AWESOME THAT IT HURTS"

This series has been incredibly awesome so far. Its funny and exciting with some great characters, none of which act in a way consistant with their personality. I just love the sun knights commentary on everything that happens as well as his ability to manipulate people and situations.
The manga is allright if you can get past the sparkly artwork but the novel is just so much better.

My absolute favourite

This is seriously my favorite thing to read of all time. It's funny, witty, wonderfully satirical (not like those "parody" anime that fall into the same traps they make fun of) and surprisingly complex. I haven't found anything else quite like it even though I'm an avid fan of most genres of manga/anime/light novels. Something that really makes this work stand out IMO is the theme of duality that runs throughout; all the characters are the exact opposite of being one dimensional, and it is extremely interesting to see the various facets of their personalities and character they are characterized with and how different they can be. The main character Grisia Sun is one of the most complex yet interesting characters I've ever seen portrayed in an anime/manga/light novel series. He represents all good and benevolence and pure kindness, and shows it really well. Except, he's also narcissistic, lazy, manipulative while still having the capability to actually be a good person (at least towards the other Knights... Sometimes)

Even the plot is quite well thought out, with no loose ends -- seemingly insignificant things from the start do actually play parts later on, making for a coherent and detailed reading experience. Even though it sounds a bit like I'm praising LSK as a literary masterpiece though, it's not. It's just a really good light-hearted read with surprising depth that I think anyone would enjoy.

To the males: yes, this is classified as shoujo, but it's actually a bit misleading since there are literally no distinguishable shoujo elements (not even romance) which I can find at all, coming from a former mega shoujo fan.

Sersiously, everyone should read it (including you). 10 is not enough to describe how awesome it is (if this is considered a 10, then almost literally everything else I've read is probably a 7 or under, and I've read loads of stuff from almost every genre.).

I haven't finished the series yet, but I'm absolutely sure: this novel is one of the rarest things (be it novel, manga, anime, movie, music, anything, really) I want to press to my breast, and tattoo every single word on my back.
The stories seem simple, but they can't be any further from it. The characters are well developed and the backbone of the series. The way things are unfolded before us is ranging from really clever to mindblowing. Every little thing matters, every little action has its consequences.

Sadly I can't rate this series over 10, so that have to be enough.

I love Yu Wo's work sooo much! This was truly a work of art! Once I started reading it I could not stop (and fell a bit behind schedule in my homework, but I don't care) and I suggest it to anyone who wants to experience having a huge grin that won't leave for minutes! I love all the characters and the way the plot plays out. I highly recommend trying it!

Chinese Novel Ver.

Read the book in Chinese smile If you can read Chinese i suggest you read it in the original language - its better in my opinion (not that the translations are bad).

The characters are interesting with their fake personalities, especially Creus. The first few books are generally funny but it gets better as it progresses, although the ending was not fantastic. If you are dying to know what happens, just read the prologue again it pretty much sums up the whole series, although the sun knight's feats are not as noble as it seems XD

This novel is just so great. Sun is really a unique character and his situations and views on things make me lol a lot. Although it is a comedy there are parts of the plot that are quite serious and even Sun is serious on (rare) occasions. All the characters in this book are unique in their own ways and there isn't a character yet that I don't like.

Bottom Line: Give it a try!
