Description

In a city where youkai and humans coexist, the cat youkai who holds a grudge against the Rat Family appears in front of Nekuni Kyouichi, the head of the Rat Family. It's a malice-covered Hateful cat who is aiming for his life. But that youkai is Nekogasaki Natsuho, who's also extremely anxious around other people... Read this while back a few years ago I think I liked it cause it good also it good and it does feel a bit generic but it is just so well done and good please read.

A simple manga that I found touching

How did I end up reading this manga? I hadn't read a fighting shounen manga in a long time, so I looked up a list of shonen with "supernatural powers" and... I ended up reading this manga for the romcom. You can tell from the cover it's going to be a romcom, can't you not? But it looked so cute I just had to read it.

And when I expected to get bored and drop it after a few chapters, exhausted by the genre and how repetitive it can get, I found myself eagerly reading and engaged in the story. Urami Koi doesn't try to be the next Berserk, but it does a very good job at being an enjoyable work. It has very likeable characters that go beyond their initial premises and evolve both in character and in their roles, a small scale but great universe which is well developed and makes you interested in its descriptions, and an engaging story.

I absolutely loved the relationship the characters have between each other and how some of these, especially the grandson-grandfather relationship, are and how relevant they are to the characters too. This manga provided me with a very pleasurable day of reading and I can only say I'm bitter to leave behind this lovely little world.

I think one of the reasons I was really touched by this manga's message is that it is a story of love! Not just a story of romantic love, it's a story of overcoming hatred and the differences between each other with love and to learn to see through them. This is something I really appreciate.

I thank you great author for the work you have provided and I hope you keep shining brightly upon your readers. It is people such as you who make the world a happy place to be.

A few likable differences

The MC is really refreshing as far as any harem MC I think I have ever seen. He's rational and isn't shy to the point of overkill. As far as the non harem component's, he's smart and isn't easily taken by emotions like most MCs, and he doesn't have OP hidden powers of any sort, honestly reminds me a bit of Rosario + Vampire when he does get power. The story itself is finally picking up some pace - it's expanding into being an action type with bits of relationship between rat and cat.

I thought this tried to be another Fruits Basket (the first one), but I kinda like how it is going, all the characters are awesome so far, give it a chance. I do think like tameflame, hate and love arent so different from each other, the difference is the color they are marked with.

I'll update this comment as I keep reading.

It's a story of how love and hate are similar emotions; both being forms of attachment.
The art is above average to good, it is no surprise that this mangaka was chosen as the artist for the umineko manga.

As for characters, decent characters, the MC isn't the spiny emotional brat that we are used to with harems, and his maturity shines through his sombre actions.

That said, the depth of the story isn't that great and you can't really expect some mind blowing storytelling.

Worth a read, decent so far.
