Wow ok so the first 4 chapters I could follow, and from chapter 5 onwards I'm just completely lost and confused and also...annoyed??
First, Nagizuka: saw someone commented somewhere that the artist did Nagizuka so dirty, and I couldn't agree more. I loved that Nagizuka is bi (representation!!!) and at first, I just wished his characterisation could have been better, and that he would have been treated more fairly. Too often bi characters are villainized in BL.
THEN IT GOT WAY WORSE. I mean?? ? Nagizuka? Listening to them going at it?? And I honestly don't get Makoto? Seriously why does he keep picking up the calls during sex?? And Shiro as well - "let him listen"?? Is no one in this manga using their brains to think?? ? I'm just speechless.
I mean I've always had a nagging discomfort at the back of my mind about the main couple's relationship (something about Shiro not seeming to have a mature enough mental capacity to be in a sexual romantic relationship). At first I chalked it up to me being overly sensitive, since Shiro's a fully grown demon of higher cognitive ability, so it is up for debate. BUT NOW I just think that the mangaka has really kinky tastes and is using this to fulfil those (regardless of whether they fit the story or not). I honestly dunno what to even think.
Anw, the redeeming points are that the premise is really interesting (a word-eating demon? cool), I absolutely LOVE the art, and I really do enjoy that Shiro is super sweet towards Makoto and spoils him rotten.
