Description
From ShoujoMagic:
Yori's attitude has changed. He and his twin sister, Iku, used to be inseparable as children, but lately Yori's been different -- eager to be apart from Iku. Iku worries that he hates her, but the truth is far more scandalous. Now, Yori would risk losing everything to have his little sister. Iku loves her big brother enough that she would never risk losing him, and so she'll do what it takes to keep them together... but Yori doesn't want to have her that way -- as a sister dedicated to her twin. Can Iku ever love Yori not as a brother but as a man?
Boku wa Imouto ni Koiwosur... More...

Something special about this manga is that it shows both the girl's and guy's perspective on the matter, their feelings, etc.
Erm, I enjoyed it at the start but later it starts to get boring. At the start, Iku was a bit clumsy, slow, and is cute at times. But later, (after Yori leaves) she starts to become a really annoying girl, who cries cries cries. I'm absolutely disgusted by her. Congrats, she had successfully became a typical shoujo manga lead who cannot protect herself, and whining + crying is her forte.
The incest theme isn't very strong, and the smutty areas was alright.
Overall, it was good, and things are getting interesting..

When it's found out the mother cheated on the father on her wedding day with their best friend. The fact that the husband figured she did and was okay with it had me screaming at the screen. Like, she was engaged to you before you even met the other guy and you realized they flirted a lot so you're okay when she fucks him and gets impregnated on your wedding day? Wat? The father wasn't as bad, but the mother was an awful person.

First chapter wasn't that bad but it all went down hill from there , I try to keep an open mind and stuff but I seriously wanted to backhand that silly Iku girl , I mean she cries so much it's annoying then Yori is a jerk , he acts so mean . I only recommend if you have absolutely nothing better to do with your time , but in the end if seen worse , it's still bad to me though

After reading the description I thought that I would really like this series. But I find it to be really annoying!! Iku really grinds my gears!! She's stupid and so naive. No wonder Yori had to move away to protect her. Left alone, she'd give away their secret and they'd have been discovered a long time ago. SIGH I mean I do think that she's cute sometimes, but over all I just can't get over how stupid she really is.
But anyway, I jut wanted to voice my frustrations of her. Go ahead and give it a read :-D

The story is pretty cliche and hits all the stops for overdramatic shoujo romance, with the main "feature" being an incest theme to set it apart. But what really bothered me was that there was a lot of really dark sorts of things going on related to the incest without mention. I don't mind (you could even say "like") incest themed stories when the incest is actually addressed and not brushed away or treated as any other normal relationship. In Boku wa Imouto..., it's hardly addressed at all, except to provide more drama of "oh noes we can't be together ". It's frustrating to read and hard to enjoy. The sister manga to this one, while equally melodramatic, worked much better.
It doesn't help that the main girl has hardly any personality and absolutely no backbone or ability to stand up for her own interests. I don't like either of the main characters in the least.
Also, and this is even more subjective on my part, the art style is pretty awful. The main guy Yori is downright scary in appearance, particularly because of the strange way the eyes are drawn. I could never quite get used to the style.
I stopped reading after the fourth volume, because I didn't care anymore what happened.

If you like Shinjo Mayu, and possibly a plot, this is for you. At first the art isn't that great but then improves. There's also an OAV around (by group called manhole) and it follows the first 3 volumes of the manga. Not too bad either, but I like the manga better. There's smut, but not that perverted so far, quite fitting.

How did this get an award? This was actually annoying to read. In the end, I just skipped every few chapters and skipped to the end. How do you put such over-rated love obstacles one-by-one in sequential order just to annoy me? The art makes it even more annoying. Then the parents have some super over the top drama as well. Then the ending was literally one chapter! The ending was bee es.

Seriously, that's all Iku does! She cries!
Whether it's about having too much on her phone bill (over $200!) or not being able to hear Yori's voice...she just cries!
I know, this is a shoujo manga, so it's bound to be somewhat cliche, but this just gets ridiculous.
I've never read a manga where the female character was THIS ANNOYING.

In Boku Imouto, it feels like the incest theme was just mixed into a typical shoujo story to deliberately produce the 'shock' effect. Going for a head-on approach to this taboo subject instead of a careful one, the mangaka milks this 'forbidden love' appeal for all its worth and ties it in with her usual teenage angst shtick.
I agree with fictionalscience, the excessive melodrama and paper-thin characterisation make it hard to truly sympathise with the characters. When it comes down to it, this is just shoujo fluff (with added angst!), and what I find especially lacking in Boku Imouto is the realism and quiet, subtle feeling seen in Koi Kaze. I guess it's unfair to compare two incest mangas of different genres, but I prefer Koi Kaze so much more.

i like how the story goes, as far as the scalanted manga is concerned. hope they continue it. i like the smut scenes, they are good in my opinion. you can see the passion and want there. better than Tsumi (soap opera-ish IMO) and Koi Kaze (i can barely grasp their emotions).
