Description

Park Soonja stumbles on a mountain and passes out, waking up as the heroine of her daughter's romance-fantasy novel, Belita Partel. The Female Lead is a Horrible Person

The premise is super interesting. FL is a mom who is transported inside her own daughter's novel. Now, instead of the predictable development we are all familiar with, she tackles events in a different way - through the eyes of a mother. Should be fun right? Not exactly.

She keeps meeting capture targets (Male Leads) and, after making them fall in love with her through being warm and compassionate, she'll mock them inside of her mind for falling in love with her. It's really surprisingly cruel of her.

Instead of ignoring these men, she keeps charging at them. Most of the guys into her have had predictable bad childhoods with torture, neglect etc. They have extremely bad relationships with their parents. So, when the FL (a pretty girl) shows up with a compassionate gaze that wants nothing from them, it's no wonder that they get possessive and clingy. They want to be around someone who's presence is healing and non-judgemental, isn't that understandable? But instead of telling them that this behavior is wrong and evident of deeper mental issues that they need to sort out themselves, she oddly takes advantage of them and their ressources.

She gets depressed about staying away from her daughter (which is fair) but then somehow thinks that the novel will end if she marries the already engaged Crown Prince. Then she seduces him, and when he realizes she doesn't love him, but simply wants to be Crown Princess, he loses his already fragile mind and strangles her. Only after this does MC realize that this way of doing things is wrong.

The FL, due to being a middleaged mother I guess, has a giant chip on her shoulder. She always thinks she is right, and that others are wrong. She never confides in other people, her mental issues often worsen due to this, and she becomes annoying and pushy towards everyone else in her life. She never even attempted to give this new world a chance, or at least enjoy herself a little (she's rich and has a loving family) before cracking the mystery of how to return. No, she just whines and seduces random MLs, then mocks them in her mind before making engaged guys cheat - even though she knows he'll likely lose the throne if he chooses her. (Also who in their right mind engages anything even remotely romantic with a guy who just confessed that he murdered his own abusive suicidal mother as a child because she said she'd hug him a lot after??? That should be the biggest red flag in existence.

Basically, this FL is if the stereotypical Evil Baron Girlfriend had a story that followed her perspective. Oh, I almost forgot! She slept with another ML (right after coming home from the Prince ML who professed his love for her and told her he'd find a way to make her his Princess) when she knew he was madly in love with her. Basically, she took advantage of his love so she could have his body and then, most likely, dump him.

She's kind of the worst...

Rushed ending but maybe the novel is better

It’s different that she doesn’t want these male leads and want to go home. I appreciate all isekai like this one. Rate 10 because it’s not that bad and score was low, haha. Would be ~7 in my opinion.

Edit: I finished the last chap and it is just too rushed. A lot of characters or plots get forgotten, will she get along with her friend the countess, what about ML family. Regardless I still think highly of the FL, why do you need to treat those ml, who is violence/obsessive towards yourself or don’t care about your opinions, nice or even love them just because they do that in the name of love? No, you should love yourself more. Also, I feel like her nagging or back slapping her daughter were just a joke, she would cry happily and hug her if she can meet her daughter again.

The FL plays whiplash with the character's emotions and goes from happy to killing herself on the flip of a coin. Art is meh. Just meh all around 😕

interesting premise, but...

the premise was interesting, i actually did like that the protagonist was mostly focused on trying to return home. the only thing is that i didn't find her particularly interesting, or that she resonated with me in any way. i do like her relationship with the countess, but i found myself overall bored.

and the story felt very rushed and disjointed--like, why are her family and the blond baron so at odds with each other? the fact that the blond baron more or less disappeared from the story from when she left his estate to when i stopped reading didn't help that feeling. yes, this could reflect her own disinterest in the world around her, but it didn't feel like that and just felt like i was missing stuff. this is something that may have been resolved if i read past chapter 21 or so, but i just wasn't interested enough to continue.
