This is not your typical story. I still haven’t finished reading although I’m close to the end. Let me just say that this is a story that focuses on a FL (Ersella). This is a regression story so we start at the end of the story and we regress to the past.
For the longest I thought this was going to be your typical let me relive this life and this time I’ll be able to live happily ever after. This is not that type of story at all. I’m gonna say this one more time for the people in the back this is not a love story between a husband and a wife. This is a a story about a mother’s love for her son. In this sense the ML and FL are the mom and son. It is well written, and keeps you guessing what’s gonna come next. Major story arcs for the FL:
-Repairing and rebuilding her relationship with her son
-FL is from a major noble family, so when get a lot of palace politics but it’s tolerable nothing crazy or anything you need to prepare for.
-FL is married, and her husband plays a huge role in the story, but I wouldn’t go so far as to call him the ML of the story.
-FL taking control of her life and finding out everything that had been hidden from her for “her own good”
Is there a ML here? In my opinion, the second protagonist of the story is the son and not the husband. There is backstory given for the husband, and he does play a major role in the story.
However, this story is about familial and political relationships more than anything. Love is a major theme but more along the lines of familial love and what it means to prioritize that in this world setting. (Although the FL does love her husband and it is unclear if he loves her truly and there seems to be the start of romantic feelings between the son and a major side character)
Also, to clarify, because I saw a comment make a mention of this, and I just want to clear it up. The FL never had an affair - her husband never had an affair either he’s just a cold selfish asshole who loves her his own way. These were all rumors.
I’ll come back and give an update once I finish the story, I am currently at 103 out of 126 chapters.
UPDATE - I just finished reading the last chapter of the main story… I have to say it was underwhelming as a way to wrap up everything. But then again, I’m not sure what way it could’ve ended other than the way it did. I’m currently going through the side stories… These these are very satisfying it’s telling the end of the original storyline, you hardly ever see happen. I still think this is a really good story, because it does a great job of giving a very realistic take on how complicated love can be. The main CP, undoubtedly loved each other in their own way, and ultimately due to their lack of communication and hesitation to change is what led them down the path of destruction in the original lifetime. Can’t wait to see how the sight stories will end.
I won’t be back to update anymore since I’m reading a bunch of different content (😅 I mainly do these reviews because I’m too embarrassed to admit in IRL to people that I read these types of stories so this is the only way for me to get these thoughts off my chest…lol) but I highly recommend this if you’re looking for more than a one dimensional love story that ends with happily ever after.
