A cliched shoujo

Cliche'd but a really good shoujo, drama arrives as quickly as it subdues and the love-story and its progression is also very predictable. I loved the group of friends though and they also weren't one-dimensional. Well paced with a good ending and extra content about their future. Definitely a good read for teenagers.

100 % for the younger Readers.

It has the depth and the loving relationship that most younger kids would appreciate and connect with. Being an adult it just didn't have the depth I needed. Artistry would be have been better defined a bit more.

Spoiler (mouse over to view)
starts with just a couple of girls stuck in an all boys class. Quick bullying. Quick fix. Has a reverse harem plot going on. Girl and bully fall in love.. Then split. Then love then split. There is the normal love triangle here and there for the two. Then daddy problems. Then they finally get back together and stay together. Wish Ogawa would be with the younger sister in the end. (Though they mention something like that.. It ended stupidly).

Typical Shoujo

There is nothing new here in this series, despite all the good reviews. While it is true that the author made this a bit more realistic than many other shoujo series, the teenage angst and shallow love rivals are still ever present. I guess this is just not for my age group anymore.

Surprisingly good

I've mostly outgrown typical shoujo stories like this, but sometimes there's a good shoujo out there that manages to keep me hooked and this happens to be one of them.
It was full of cliches of course which is why it didn't get the full 10, but it was a feel-good story with a fair amount of drama, any irritating love rivalry parts were short and sweet which is definitely best and I really loved the ending.
The main male character's indecisiveness was a little irritating but considering I read this manga all the way through I thought I should rate and comment cuz it's a really impressive feat to keep me reading.
Recommended to all ^_^
Unless you hate shoujo.

yeah I just have finished this an I can say I really enjoy it.
I must say it is very good .Characters are very handsome !! and girls are good too biggrin You can feel emoitons.Sakai Mayu draw all families in the story and give them a family background which is I really like this part.Because It is funny that every character has got a brother or sister and you can see they all have similar problems like you have biggrin I have two brothers so I can understand them very much biggrin
It is touching and funny story . You should read it if you like shojo manga .Because I admit it has lots of cliches but you can find different parts like family stuff.
I give 8!

Finished reading it and it's just utterly stupid bigrazz The heroine is stupid! I hate her! She does NOT even understand Ran! Smiling, smiling and smiling! Arghhh it's annoying! she is also the type of girl who: when guy has a family problem from a LONG time ago, she comes and makes everything 'okay' bigrazz seriously, 1/10! It horribly cliched!
NOT reccommended! This is a waste of time!

This is a manga that is worth re-reading. Yeah, I know. 8 volumes. 33 chapters. Kinda long-ish. But seriously, this makes me warm up inside and squeal over the best of shoujo manga.
Art is gorgeous, as you can see. Sakai Mayu draws beautifully and her other works have epic art too. So check them out.
All of the characters have their own story and interests. The subplot's were written good too like Akira's plot.
I could go on and on for eternity but yeah, seriously, read this manga. It is amazing.

It's not just the art but the story and the characters. The characters are all individually unique and think differently like the main character thinks like how a normal teen would think, the plot is so cute and sweet it's a manga that you simply cannot put down. so cute~~~

Rockin’ Heaven is in fact a typical shoujo story, but only to a certain extent. I’d say it’s higher quality than your average "typical shoujo story" firstly because of the art and secondly because the author actually takes a shot at semi-realism and succeeded. Despite using a cliché “only girl in a previously all boys’ school” plot, something about the execution of this series made it seem less ridiculous than most shoujo manga. A little more down-to-earth. But still really cute. Sawa is adorable and while she is somewhat cliché in personality, she is still strong and kind. Ran on the other hand is only okay for me, but his personality didn’t make as much sense to me so I didn’t care too much. The other characters are interesting enough and not grossly underdeveloped like most supporting casts, so a plus for that as well. Furthermore, the situations in the story are generally realistic and easy to follow (aka doesn’t make you wanna facepalm). Some parts had really amazingly created moments and I was really impressed, especially the first confession scene (the art paneling was gorgeous). Overall, I quite enjoyed this one and I think it’s because of the author’s writing style. Rockin’ Heaven is short, sweet and a little cheesy like most shoujo series, yet it won’t make you cringe or get cavities. I’d definitely recommend this to any shoujo lover, or even someone who doesn’t like this genre. Rockin’ Heaven isn’t overly dramatic but is still interesting, therefore making it easier to swallow than others of its kind.

Oh, and the ending doesn't suck.

this actually has a good plot, it not just oh I fell in love with this guy and just drags on about their love but rather it has good issues dealing with what normal students go through during highschool such as friendship between guys, as well as girls. There's character growth and compromising situations as well. Not your typical manga
