So many things left unresolved

There were fewer stable characters in this story than not. No idea why the female lead likes the male lead. So many abusive parents, teachers, friends go unpunished like nothing happened. It got just too crazy reading this.

Got a little bit sentimental

Heh I didn't expect this one to turn out so good. There's nothing groundbreaking to praise, except cute babysitting and little kids. Minor romance and somewhat weird. But the family drama surrounding all the characters enough to make me pensive and think.

Spoiler (mouse over to view)
Unfortunately, Yuzuyu and her mother's circumstances were resolved in a less satisfactory way. No second thoughts and it just happened. It's sad but I'd rather see more. "Just...like that? What?" Hufft. The author makes us think from the frame that all parents go through difficult things, but Yuzuyu mama doesn't make me feel any sympathy for her. It's understandable why everyone (in Katakura household) reacted sternly with her less persuasive reasoning, and she's also living with other men at the time.

Everyone has their own way of seeking happiness or strength, and in this case, Yuzuyu mama is very weak, emotionally. Maybe that's why she needed someone to support her? I believe it could be extended a little bit longer to resolve the misunderstanding.

This feels like a shorter version of Love So Life, but I highly recommend to read that one.

Not perfect, but still one of my favourite

Plot is cliché, art is ok, ending is a bit abrupt.

But still one of my favourite since years ago, I think that I reread it at least once a year.

Left a positive enough impression on me to write something on it, but I'm very negative about it. I hate Kokoro so much

Asihiteruze Baby is pretty cute but awfully naive. It handles some interesting social dilemmas, but handles them either well, decently, or extremely poorly. The love interest for the main character, Kippei, is terrible. Kokoro sours the entire experience any time she's around. Otherwise there's good stuff here but I'm not exactly glad to have read this series. Wrote a review, you can see my full thoughts on it there.

Woh that's some crazy shit here. Nice and cute, touching BUT too much characters acting really weird around the kid it's disturbing and unwholesome.

Girl physically and mentally bullying the child just because she like the main character (and ending with nothing more than a small lecture !), another who speak to the child about how she want to die, who throw knifes and try to suicide in front of the child ! Like... Wtf girl ? Do what you want but don't disturb this poor little girl !

I didn't understand her logic. So she was having problems raising Yuzuyu after her husband's death so she just drops her on her older sister's family, but why didn't she just stay with them as well until she got on her feet? Kippei's family seemed totally fine with helping people out when needed and she was family, Kippei's mom's younger sister. The logic for her to abandon her child while she looks for a new man just made her come off as a completely awful person. She needed to grow stronger on her own so in case her next relationship doesn't work out, she doesn't repeat history. Frankly, this manga was really good, but the ending was kinda bad. I would have rather seen Kippei and Kokoro adopt Yuzuyu or even Kippei's sister. It seemed like it was going that direction when it just dropped on you that she was barren. Her adopting Yuzuyu would have made a lot of sense. Also what happened with Kippei and Kokoro?

I love this manga. It is very cute. But the ending is just
.. no...

Spoiler (mouse over to view)
so the mom come bck and get the kid. They say good bye.. and........ ??? Nothing. We don't know what hapoen to the romantic relationship. They show the kid as a teenager and possibly reunite w a boy from the kindergarten.. but that is it! We have no update for the MAIN CHARACTER! Like so is the girlfriend still live w him? Like forever? What about the sister? Will she live as a bitter woman forever? (Okay maybe bitter isnt the right word). But WHAT HAPPEN!?!? I hate open ending. LIKE WHY?!?! I dont need a happily ever after.. but just some sort of closer would be nice.. one more chapter would not kill you! Or just a few more pages! WHY!

Slow decline

This is one of those stories that starts strong, then around halfway starts to lose momentum. You can easily see where the story is going from early on, I mean if you think about it there's only one conclusion given the facts. Yuzuyu is totally adorable, but often times she feels less like a real person and more like a walking drama maker. Sure, she would probably be a little messed up but at times it just seems to go over the top.

I really wanted to like this story more than I did. I liked the premise a lot and the relationship between our two main characters was really nice to see. I liked watching Kippei mature as a person. But ultimately most of the drama here felt kinda artificial and the ending was kind of unsatisfying. Still cute though.

Watch the anime

This anime was one of my first that I watched around 5/6 years ago. I returned to it because I couldn't think of anything else with such an innocent feel-good mood. This really is a masterpiece- regardless of complexity and it's limitations, the mood it establishes is so secure and comforting.

The main characters are so lovable and their interactions never get old.
