Positive :
Long Story ; I love longer stories as I like to see how the characters grow together so this was basically the only thing that made me start it and continue.
Complete ; I prefer being able to finish a story in one go.
Two good chapters ; somewhere around chapter 14 or 16 ish it was actually done quite realistically and well, I had hopes that it was it's cue to get better but alas.
Some side characters ; The girls in Fujimoto's class was semi okay, the nurse and librarian were good people, so there were a few good characters but not really. Oh and I liked it when Fujimoto stood up to the teachers.
Negative :
Characters ; main characters were Cliché and predictable. Fujimoto was annoyingly naive and over feminized to fit the use role and Takashi repeatedly went back on his words and needs to get his anger management under control, he's an alpha male who's good at everything he tries to do and not in a good way.
Side Characters ; OH MY GOD!!! They made this so unbearingly hard to read at times! Stereotypical jealous girl who tries to be a house wrecker appears Urgh! And then fucking ignorant people, like yes this was set in a more traditional time, yes Japan is likely to be less open about stuff and maybe the author did it on purpose to show how special homosexual romance is because of the hardships they'd face and make it more 'forbidden'. But really?!? Most of the characters were ignorant and treated everything outside of heterosexual as a disease, and seriously, just because someone is gay doesn't mean it's alright to rape them! How hard is it to understand that it's never okay to rape someone ?!? Trying to rape is like one type of reaction gays get in this manga, the other is that it is a mistake/misunderstanding/disease and so they 'helpfully' decide that the characters just need to be sexually harassed by females and then everything (that was great originally anyways) will be 'fine' and oh wait that's sexual abuse too so I guess it's still the same as the first reaction. Everyone is so closed minded and hypocritical and that really disgusts me.
Ideas: This I've somewhat summarised above, the ideas in this story is that anything except heterosexual relationships is not normal and you should be ashamed, everyone will react negatively if they find out and it is disgusting, you will be discriminated against and you should get help to turn straight... WTF! Really, imo love wins over everything and no one should be harmed mentally or physically for such a positive thing that is out of your control.
Plot ; Cliché, annoying plot, predictable, unrealistic, really mundane and shallow!
CONCLUSION
This is actually not a great read and has been overrated in my opinion. The plot and characters are cheesy and cliché, everything is quite predictable and unrealistic. The side characters are really horrible. Really not worth it if you're looking for a proper good read. But if you're looking for cheap entertainment or is as desperate as me to read a long story then go ahead, there are 2 chapters that are good, the rest is meh.
