On the one hand, I learned quite a bit of history from this manga. On the other hand, you never really get to know what Genghis Khan is like as a person because the characterizations are not well developed. It was like reading a picture book of history, rather than a manga. Also, the artwork made almost every character look the same, with about five kinds of facial expressions. I appreciate the attempt, but this series doesn't feel as rich and inspired as the source material would suggest.
