Amazing

I clicked on this series by complete accident and I can’t describe how glad I am to have read it. I know others have said it, but I simply couldn't think of another word to describe it besides amazing. White Clouds was simple but so touching and beautiful. Very few mangas can capture the realistic and down-to-earth feeling. There are a handful of admittedly great series, but still, nothing comes close to the amount of real emotion White Clouds pulls from me.

In 16 pages, it is the only manga to ever make me cry.

The story is delicate but genuine and touches on the real aspects of life and death. It’s both sad and sweet, but with a hope that we will meet with our loved ones again some day. The art style really contributes to the feeling it was aiming for and having the dog Shiro narrate makes for a rather unique perspective. I can see why this is an award-winning one shot. I’ve read it so many times and I can't make it past the third page without crying each time. I’ve never lost someone really close to me or had a pet either but I can just feel the emotion seep through the pages. It’s such a quick read, but the impact of the story is unforgettable and the fact that 16 extremely simple pages can do so much makes this a classic in my eyes. This is the only story to which I have given a full 10 rating.

"White Clouds" touches on so many emotions in its 16 pages. It's really an adorable and amazing manga. You'll be impressed with the lasting impact a one-shot manga can have. Just thinking about this manga still brings tears to my eyes. It manages to handle old age and death in the most delicate and powerful way possible.
Also, "Hoppie's Bear," another one-shot that's included in White Clouds, is equally adorable but not quite as sad. Similar to "White Clouds," "Hoppie's Bear" focuses everyday scenarios and then enhances the emotions that go along with those scenarios. Unlike "White Clouds," "Hoppie's Bear" focuses more on finding happiness.
Overall, both are excellent, and you should definitely read them. They are fantastic. So much better than the overhyped manga-turned-anime, mainstream stuff (although that stuff is good in its own way, it really can't compare to White Clouds).

Absolutely touching. It shows a very beautiful story in a mere 16 pages, from an unusual point of view. Definitely one of the best one-shots out there.

One of the most beautiful oneshots... Death, Life, Love they are what make life the thing that it is. The memories we've had and how we must let go - this oneshot elequently states that, and even leaves you looking out the window in a different perspective.

Almost made me cry, simple yet effective. Really made an impact on me. Its a short story about the true meaning of death and how it affects the people around us... A must read.

It's a simple story about a man coming to terms with his wife's death and also the belief that one day, he will return to where she is. This simple story speaks of life, loss, but the overall message is one of hope. Even though it's short, it's skillfully written and has a great deal of depth to it. It's a nice story with a good message and would affect someone more if their beloved one passed away.

A very touching story told from the dog’s point of view. It’s so sad, but it just had to happen.

I've read this manga half a dozen times already. It's very short - only 16 pages - but in such a short space it manages to tell one of the most touching little stories I've ever had the pleasure to read.

It makes me cry every single time. It really is beautiful in its simplicity.

As I'm writing this, this manga appears in only 9 completed lists and nowhere else. It's a real shame. Please give this manga a chance - it will only take you 5 minutes to finish it, but you'll probably never forget it.
