Description

I have mixed feelings about this story. Whole thing was lukewarm and the biggest drama was about Penny. But the philosophical paradox about wanting the best for your children by sacrificing yourself, at the same time making your children "sad" (to simplify without spoiling) is interesting and worth exploring. Kind of a selfishness in being selfless. Makes you consider that selflessness is not always a virtue. We all heard about putting on your oxygen mask first but how often you forget about it when you look at someone you love dearly? This story helped the author through "the most difficult time" so it may help you too.

Had trouble connecting to ML with his limited expressions. Some frustrating moments that could have been resolved if FL told ML the truth about why she was so determined to marry someone else.

Improving familial relationships after regression
Loving family
No big move to change much
She falls first
Struggle between current happiness & her to-be daughter
Character-driven plot (little outside pressure)
Finally tells ML everything ch 40
Religious undertone (mentions of God)
Character development

FL = learning to live for herself
FL’s past husband = saying no to mother/ protecting his wife & kids

Ending felt a bit dragged on after all the conflict was resolved
Side stories include large jumps in time

FL & ML’s kids grown up, after parents passed

The story really seems to find fault with this perfectly nice guy (FL’s previous husband) —who loved his daughter — because he was frugal (couldn’t give FL’s daughter fancy dresses so they therefore, apparently, couldn’t experience ‘the joys of life’?) and wasn’t tall…The only real problem was his controlling mother, pushing for them to have a son but even he tries to protect the FL from that. That aspect of the story is smoothed over in season 2.

I'm glad that it was a happy end. And I understand that the characters had to go through the development.... it just felt a little forced at times. I feel like there should have been more thearpy for everyone 🥲 it wasn't very romantic since the existential crisis of her child was looming over her the entire time

The very beginning of this rubs me in a very wrong way, I suppose. Like, we're told tthey're well off, but not super rich. Not super in love, but still mesh well enough as a couple. Both the parents love their daughter. And for this reason, the daughter has concluded that the mother is miserable and needs a second chance at her life? I'm sorry, what?!

Rather than a romance, this story is more about the MC’s love for her daughter and her mental angst deciding how to move forward with this second chance. The MC’s desire to live the same life in hopes of being reunited with her daughter permeates every chapter, to the point where you wonder how she said yes to dates with her “first love”, when she only wallows in guilt afterwards.
Dropped after 19 chapters because wish-washy MC and self created drama aren’t my cup of tea.

Pacing is weird in some places, and panel placing is nothing ground-breaking, but the plot and characters are interesting enough that I don't care. The "conflict" resolves after the first season, and it looks like the second season is gearing up for something political. It set the pace in the beginning and stuck to it, so I think some reviews in other places were just a matter of impatience. All in all, it does try to at least be somewhat coherent. There's other low-tier stuff out there, this doesn't deserve the hate.

!!!RANT!!!

I get that fl loves her daughter so much that she wants to meet her in this life as well, but her daughter sacrificed her magic (her life) to turn back her mother's time because she can clearly see that she's fucken miserable, Only for fl to GO BACK TO BEING MISERABLE.
Also, its unfair to her fianceé (the baron) cause she knows he has his own lover and knows he doesn't want this either (in turn make them both hate their lives). I know she doesn't actually owe the duke a relationship but that's just a bitch move dude. They go on dates and pour their souls out to each other for her to say 'oh sorry I actually can't handle being with you' LIKE BRUH SHE'S MAD ANNOYING.
